2001 chevy Impala. Heater blower fan vibrates

2001 chevy Impala. Heater blower fan vibrates terribly. I only drive it occasionally and think a mouse has built a nest in it sometime back. how do I reach this fan to clean it out?

It's possible that a small animal, such as a mouse has made a nest in the fan of the blower motor, especially of the car sits for long periods of time. It happened to my 2002 Impala.
It's still a pretty big job, but there are two ways to go. The motor is down under the dash by the passenger's toes. It can be removed an inspected.
The other way is to remove the black plastic cover on the passenger side, between the windshield and the engine compartment. I recall that there's a couple screw, pull the weatherstripping from the firewall, and unclip the washer hose. You can look stright down into the cage of the fan, but you probably can't reach down in there; too tight. I used a claw/gripper thing to reach in there.

Big job...you have to open the dash to get at the housing. If you don't have the tools, bring it to a trusted garage.

Testimonial: "that is what I was afraid of.I didn't know if I should go in from the dash or under the hood. My mechanical abilities are limited for a 64 yr old lady"

Blower motor is under glove compartment, at passengers foot space. Take black cover panel off by removing 2 clips as well as a plastic push clip...you'll need needle nose pliers. You'll see a silver cylinder, that's the blower motor, to the left there is a golden metal. That holds the wires up, undo. There are about 3-4 screws to remove the blower motor. Undo them. They can be tricky (awkward angle) wiggle the blower motor down and out. Reach behind and undo the electrical plug by pinching a lil clip and pulling. It should be out. I hope this helps. I'm a young woman and if I can do it, well....

2000 Chevrolet Impala blower motor work from 1-4 but not on 5th speed why?

The blower motor relay is energized when the Blower Motor Control is set to the High position. This removes the blower motor resistors from the circuit and battery voltage is then applied directly from the HVAC BLO fuse (RH IP Accessory Wiring Junction Block) to the blower motor though the relay switch contacts. The blower motor then runs at high speed.

HVAC Blower Controls Circuit Description
The blower motor is a variable speed motor. The motor operates at a higher rate when voltage is increased to the maximum level.
The blower motor resistors reduce the voltage supplied from the A/C FAN fuse (LH IP Accessory Wiring Junction Block) when the blower control is set at low and medium speeds (speeds 1-4).

Why does my blower continue to run in my 2004 chevy impala when i turn my car off?

Sounds like you have a shorted power wire to ground in your heater circuit.

2001 Impala, strong right to left vibration felt in the front end ONLY when accelerating, NOT felt through steering wheel NOT felt when coasting, or slowing down, strait or turning vehicle tracks...

Has to be a drive axle, most likely an inner joint, should be able to feel the play if one is bad (jacked up to let the wheel spin freely).
Also. If the front suspension is weak,or lowered, the CV axle will bottom out in the inner plunge cup and make a terrible vibration.

My 2000 chevy impala heater fan control doesen't work at all. everthing works, except when you turn the control on any setting the blower motor won't come on/? no blowen fuse.

the resistor to the blower motor is bad or the motor itself, the resistor should be right next to the blower fan a heavy gauge wire plugs into it, or it might even just be the wire, it is common for them to melt
