I have a 1996 Chevrolet Corsica, and everything has been running fine. Lately, though, the hand brake warning light has been staying on for 10-15 minutes after starting the car. I do not use the hand brake, so this is a bit odd. The warning light will usually turn off automatically after the car has been running for a while. Engaging and releasing the hand brake does not faze the warning light.
Along with warning that the e-brake is engaged, it's also a waning light that something is wrong with the brake system. however, it may be a defective switch on the e-brake handle. i would have a break check done. also chech the fluid level.
Check the brake fluid level if low top it off
and if it is low recomend have your brakes checked the pads may be close to needing replacement
