You need to get a scanner that will read the supplemental the codes from the inflatable restraint module. Not all scan tools can do this. This is the only way to retrieve the codes.Hope this helps.Good luck.

Why Would srs light stay on in a mitsubishi Eclipse 2003 model!

SRS means secondary restraint system - air bags. If the light remains on, it means the the air bag module has detected a problem with your air bag system. Have codes read (you'll need a reader that can read codes from the air bag module) to see what the problem is, and have it repaired. Best left to a dealer or shop that has experience with air bag systems.

2002 V70XC awd wagon..urget air bag service lite on dash, was told there was faulty connection under the seats, took the seats loose looked under them, did not see one wire with a connector as I was told...

with your code in the dash and no code w/reader it could be possible you have a small leak in your wind shield allowing water in dripping onto your cicuit board causing a short. however the danger involved in air bags you may be better off and safer at a dealer.

How to diagnose 4hf1 engine using computer box

You need to get a diagnostic meter that connects to the diagnostic port on the car. It will read and display all the codes that it finds. It will also reset the check engine light. Some models will reset the air bag lite and the abs lite as well.

Air bag light flashing on 1999 ford ranger

well, if your air bag light is flashing then your system is already disabled. You have no worries about it deploying on you or anything, it just means that there is a problem that needs to be resolved before the system will activate again and work. Just like a check engine light, the air bag computer will have a stored code that can be read with a code reader, not like the ones you can use at a parts store though. You need to have your codes read and that will tell you where the problem is.

Air bag light

some of the smaller obd ll readers are not capable of reading b [body]or c [chassis] codes and usually some of the airbag codes are b codes most auto stores that do the free code checks use a higher end reader and can give u code for problem a lot of the problems are usually from the front sensors under bumper that get covered and corrosion from the elements

2009pontiac air bag lite stays on how do i fix thank you

Take it to the dealer or a capable shop so the codes it has stored can be read and attended to. After possible repairs the tech can turn light off, and it should stay off.

SERVICE AIR BAG LITE

Hi,

When the air bag light comes on, this means there is a problem in the restrain system. Unfortunately, there are several sensors/parts that are monitored in the air bag system from an air bag sensor, to a problem in the seat belts and there is no way of knowing "where" the fault lies until you get the "codes" read. You will need to find a shop that has a scan-tool that can read air bag codes, as most local "free" scans or "personal" scanners do not read air bag codes. Most shops charge anywhere from $40 - $65 for this service, but, like I say, it is the only way to know "for sure' where the problem lies, and where to start your diagnostic and repair process.

Let me know,if needed further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

2001 BMW 320i air bag light is on for a while then goes off and then it returns back on why?

i understoodd that an air bag error code must be reset by a OBDII reader, not on it's own.

so this may only be a light that is failing when it goes out (i.e. means you may strill not have air-bag operation just because the lights out.
you need to have the codes read to know if there is a general fault with the air bag system or it is a specific bag.

1995 honda accord, srs light on

SRS is for the air bag. Thje computer is detecting a problem with the air bag. Read the codes. If you dont have access to a code reader then take it to a shop and have the codes read
