If you mean P2098 read on, Po 2098 is not a vaild code, all codes for OBD2 have one letter (P, B, etc.) and four numbers 0-9. P2098 VOLKSWAGEN - Post Catalyst Fuel Trim System Too Lean Bank 2 Possible causes- Low fuel pressure - Engine misfire - Large vacuum leak - Blocked converter - Faulty O2 sensor bank 2
i had the same problem, i replace he valve a days ago and the check engine light back again at the next day,
then i remove the vacum line avobe the valve and i clean it for inside with solvent, then i reset the computer by disconnectin the battery for a minute and the light finally disappeared,
i hope you can solve the problem as easy as i,
regards,
you might just have a piece of carbon holding the pintle up. or the egr valve might not be opening.round can on the intake manifold with a vacume line going to it.
The EGR and the lift sensor may look perfect from the outside but the under side of the EGR valve and the EGR passage (small tube) are the REAL WORKING parts.
The carbon inside the EGR passage tube and the underside of the EGR valve must to clean out.
Make sure you has a NEW EGR gasket before you start the job.
It's a 2-3 hours job.
If you do not clean the EGR passage tube the Nox emission will get higher (check you past emission reports).
check all vacum lines starting with the pcv valve vacum line. check while engine is running ,lisen for air leak.if u have a vacum leak then this will set these codes.
