I have a 1999 Dodge Caravan. When the gas gauge is just above the E it will stall out. It doesn't matter if I am on the freeway or driving around town. We put fuel injecter fluid in and it didn't help. The miles left usually reads approximately 15-25. What could be causing this?

Hi!!

It is not unusual for the fuel punp sending unit to loose calibration. It does not mean your fuel pump is bad.

You can get the fuel gauge sending unit serviced (recalibrated), but with complete fuel pump costing only $160 - $200 at AutoZone, I recommend to REPLACE YOUR FUEL PUMP, since labor cost will be the same.

Good Luck

Your gauge is reading high ... I think you are out of gas. You should calculate your actual Miles Per Gallon - find out what the capacity of your tank is and fill accordingly. For esample, you actually get 15 miles per gallon, your tank is 20 gallons - you should be able to drive about 300 miles between fillups. At 250 miles, start looking for a station.

95-2001 dodge caravan water pump

For all dodge minivans 94 to 2001 (and others) with 3.0 ltr V-6. You're driving on the freeway your temp gauge starting to go up. You get off the freeway. when the engine is cooled down you discover that the coolant in gone. You refill the radiator and look for a leak but can't find one. You check the oil but its not foamy, so no coolant there. If all seems to be operating normally, check under the vehicle when the engine is warmed up. There may be a slight coolant leak on the passenger side near the front tire .When the water pump on these engines typically coolant will leak out of the pump thru a "weep hole" located at the bottom of the pump. Most of the loss occurs while driving so your only indication may be that small drip of coolant. The water pump is powered by the camshaft timing belt and is located under the timing belt cover and can not be seen, however any coolant leak, no matter how small, in the area just to the rear of the crankshaft pulley is almost surely a failed water pump and must be addressed immediately

1988 dodge mini ram stalls

Porbably not getting enough gas or dirty. My 88 dodge caravan did that too until I put a cheap fuel-injector cleaner in with the gas, and started giving it more gas even in lower gears driving around town. Worth a try...
