2014 triton mn. How can I connect 7-pin trailer socket into existing wiring harness?

the simplest way to do this is to go to a tow bar installer shop and buy the harness ( around $25.00 aud)
it is a simple action of pulling a harness plug apart and inserting a piggy back plug in the connection
the wires for the trailer are properly installed and all you have to do is wire the plug connection according to the wiring diagram that came with the plug

Installed a wiring kit for a trailor but when i hit the brakes the lights go out on the trailor.any ideas?

Hi,
You need to get a proper earth connection through the trailer. Ensure all your light is earthed to the trailer on the steel parts, then take a wire from the trailer plug to the frame.
Then on the car make sure you have the same pin as for the trailer earth going to the car earth pin, then find a good earth on the car and run a wire from the car plug to that earth.
This should stop your lights from flickering when the indicator is on also. So in short wire in a good earth for the trailer as well as a good earth for the car. Hope this helps, let me know how you get on.

Electrical towing wiring problem on Grand Caravan 2006

Well the BEST way to fix that is take the Van AND Trailer to the dealer and make them check it over and get it working. Sounds like they screwed up., and are trying to blame the trailer. The 4 pins are easy to check Running lights, Left turn, Right turn and Ground. I suspect the 7 pin is wired wrong. I dont know why they put a 7 pin wiring plug on? Those are used for largeer trailers that need a battery feed and electric brakes

4pin blue modular plug under dash for brake controller to plug in

You should be able to access the Prodigy Instructions ie Wiring Diagram At google. Maybe an install video on You Tube. Make sure everything you do is properly fused. Any thing as far as color codes will need to be Prodigy specific. Prodigy may have a 1-800 Tech line. They should be able to E-mail you a PDF file.

Installing a 7-pin trailer towing recptical on a 1991 Ford F150.

I believe you can look up the manufacturer of the trailer plug kit and find the wiring diagram there. On alot of the trailer plug kits, they have pics and diagrams in the package. The 7 pin plug (truck side) is available with the pig tail set up that plugs directly into the wiring harness for the lights. Then all you would have to worry about is the 2 wires for the electric brakes.
