During deactivating alarm(unlockking the doors) on Jaguar S-Type R the horn went a full blast for about 15 minutes when the sound of the horn stoped. I was not able to stop the sound of the horn. Since then the horrn is not working and it is not failed fuse. What could cause this problem. The car is a 2003 model with only 36,000 km on it. Driven only in dry weather.

You have got corroded/open circuit wiring to the gem module more than likely behind the front bumper liner or over the wheelarch liner area lh viewed sat facing forward

Try re-programming key fob. It's also on fixya.com. I did it and it just worked

Your key fob needs reprogramming, and yes the alarm will go off when you open the door, but you have enough time to put the key in the ignition which will prevent the alarm sounding. Car is usable until you get the fob sorted by locking and unlocking using the key.

I have a similar problem in my x type. Although if I press unlock button on the key first and then use the metalic key to unlock it dissables the alarm.
Also according to the manual if you unlock by the metalic key the car starts a beeping sound its I think 15-20 second timer within which you should put the key and start the ignition (don't need to start the engin) this will dissarm the alarm if not the alarm will go off in 15-20 second.
Hope this information is of any use, am trying to get hold of Jaguar dealers to fix this issue. If you come accross any solution please do let me know too

at this point what i would do is remove the temp door controller and see if you can manualy turn the temp door closed when you get it apart smply start the car get it hot and see if it will blow cool air when you turn the shaft to cold may be inside the case door problem or could be a recalbratoin problem you could also remove temp door motor turn temp too cold and watch too see if the motor is actually turning either way hot or coldt hats were i would start you can repost and i will try to help you further Thunderboltz

First off check the battery. Try and jump start it. If that does not get the vehicle running you may have a problem with your J gate as it will not start unless in park or neutral. If an internal electrical fault has happened then the micro swith may not send a signal to the ecu to allow the car to start. the J gate is the gear selector by the way
