You can check the plugs on the bottom of the TIPM/fuse panel for corrosion. If none found, suspect the fuse panel. I replaced a lot of them this year. 05 and up. All Chrysler products.
If the starter seems good and the battery all that is important is to check if there is power to the starter when the solenoid clicks. you need to check this before anything can be confirmed.
Check the leads, the ground of the engine and the starter solenoid.
I bet it doesn't do it every time either. Problem gradually getting worse? That sounds like a bad starter solenoid to me. You need to replace your starter.
Make sure that your terminal ends are clean where they contact the battery and make sure that the ground wire connection on the block is good. If the clicking noise is coming from the starter and the battery is fully charged and has been load tested, chances are that the starter solenoid has worn out (replace with starter). If you can turn the engine by hand it is not "locked up" If you can't, changing the starter is a waste of time as you have a far larger problem. Do what I said and you should find a solution to the problem. Good Luck!!!.
Check the battery, it sounds like it's flat. Try charging the battery to see if it recovers, but if the battery is about 3 years old or more it is likely to have failed and replacement is the only viable solution.
there should be a module on the side of the distributor you may have to replace to get it to start again,im not sire your year vehicle has it but i think it does
