Check engine light came on and auto-zone check it and stated that i had random misfiring and needed to change the spark plugs. I bought them Bosch-Iridium-Fusion / Spark Plugs (6 in all, i receive some helping in changing them) then we rechecked it couple more times. 1st time one of the cylinders were still misfiring, fixed that and then stated I needed to change cylinder 1 coil and a throttle body malfunction. I later had went to another auto-zone to check after i noticed my throttle body dirty and loose (don't ask me how, idk) and i cleaned it. Auto-zone stated that 2 thru 6 cylinders were misfiring and i needed to change practically all of the ignition coils. To get additional information i went to a mechanic who used his hitech ECM and said i needed a tune up and to change the spark plugs, coils, etc. The ECM said misfiring on 2 thru 6 cylinder as well. I told him i just got the spark plugs changed and initially just needed to change one coil now all of them? He asked what type of spark plugs, i showed him the old one which were NGK not sure of the grade but he insisted using the same ones and not Bosh due to my type of vehicle. Stating its a foreign car not a European model and that it is possible that the Bosh spark plugs and the existing coils to have inconsistent continuity. I am in the process of doing so but my question is the assessment of the mechanic about the spark plugs correct and which exact ones should I get because I even confirm this with one of the auto-zone's managers where i purchased the first spark plugs and after our conversation admitted that it is possible that I did purchase the wrong types. Any suggestions?
First off, the mechanic you spoke with is absolutely correct. Use the NGK or Nippon Denso spark plugs. Don't deviate. Remember when you're talking to parts people, there is a reason they are parts people and not technicians. The quality of parts can deffinately trigger stupid eccentricities in the reading and monitoring of information sent to the computer. Swap the spark plugs with the proper ones and then let me know.

See if your car has an ignition control module. They will go bad over time and cause random engine misfiring. Just went thru it with my 2002 Buick LeSabre. 120,000 miles on the engine. Replaced plugs, plug wires and check the coils. It was the ICM.
I have a Acura 2000 tl .Check Engine light is flashing. i don't know what to do?
SOURCE: must you use double grounded sparkplugs(2000
If they sell NGK Iridium plugs for it then they should be just fine. Dealership trying to tell you that you need to use double grounded?

@iambanshee74. Thank you for your advice. It did pan out with my TL that i needed the proper spark plugs, because after that we detect the right ignition coil that needed to be replaced. In addition the mechanic showed me a trick to check which actual ignition coil needed to be changed by testing the flow of continuity thru each coil.
