The clutch activating arm is a possible suspect, when you bled the system did you get fluid squirting out of the slave? if so then try moving the activating arm, does it feel loose when moving back and forth without feeling any pressure?

Piston on new slave cylinder not moving

Gravity will not bleed the system as you need pressure in the master cylinder to bleed out the air. Once you have pressure bled the system you will have a good clutch

Clutch pedal sinks to floor

Unless you have bled the slave cylinder properly there will still be air in it. However I think the problem is in the clutch master cylinder ---piston rubbers leaking fluid back to reservoir. Replace the m/cyl with new item and bleed out correctly.

Ok i have a 92 honda accord ex 5 speed. i have no pressure in my clutch pedal. i replace the slave cylinder and bled the whole system. a bunch oh thick gunk came out. and the car was fine. two weeks later...

You need to replace the slave cylinder, it is contaminating the system fluid with rubber seal gunk, this is ruining the new masters. The clutch slave and master should always be done as a pair. This advice comes from 35 years of work experience.

My clutch dropped to the floor replaced the slave cylinder and bled it.. Still nothing. i need to know what to do next or maybe the correct process of bleeding

I do not know what brand you are working on. Some have bleeders, some do not. If it has a bleeder fill the Clutch Master Cylinder with brake fluid and have someone push and hold the clutch pedal. Put your safety glasses on and crawl under and crack the bleeder. Air will bubble out of the bleeder and the clutch pedal will go to the floor. HOLD THE PEDAL ON THE FLOOR until you close the bleeder. Do it again and again until no more air comes out. The procedure if there is no bleeder is the same except you must loosen and tighten the line itself. The clutch should work if the slave cylinder was the problem to begin with. The Clutch Master Cylinder can be shot and not producing any pressure. The throw out bearing can destroy the clutch fingers and push right through them. If that is what happened the slave cylinder will push the clutch fork just like it should but nothing will happen.

Clutch pedal goes to floor no preasure filled and bled slave cyl same result

Hi:
If you have bled the system, you are down to either having a bad clutch master cylinder, or a bad clutch slave cylinder. You could eliminate the slave cylinder by removing the line and capping it off, and if you have a firm pressure on the clutch pedal ( don;'t try to push it down, just check for pressure!) then your slave cylinder is bad. If you cap off the line, and bleed the system, and the pedal still has no pressure, then your clutch master cylinder is bad!

I cant get pressure to my clutch pedal in my 1995 saturn sc2. i changed out the slave cylinder and the clutch. I tried bleeding the slave cylinder, and still no pressure, why?

You cannot bleed these clutch hydraulics. They are meant to be a pre-bled sealed unit that you buy. You should never replace just the slave or the master. Buy them both and replace them as one unit which is already bled from the factory. Otherwise you will experience what you are describing.

Make sure you install the slave cylinder (into the transmission hole) first and then the master cylinder (pedal side) next and do not hook up the pedal until everything is installed.

If you take the slave out with the pedal attached it will extend the rod and ruin the hydraulics rendering them useless.

Press clutch down truck still moves foward on a 98 isuzu hombre

If you've not done anything to your truck, check the Clutch master cylinder under the hood, there is a resivoir that should have brake fluid in it. It usually sits next to the Brake master cylinder & is a smaller unit. If nothing has been done to the system recently, and your fluid is full, either the Clutch Master Cyl. or the Clutch Slave Cy. mounted on the bellhousing of the trans. is defective, or has a leaking connection.

If leaking connection, tighten & bleed the system. Check under the clutch pedal on the floorboard for brake fluid, if you find it, the Clutch Master Cyl is the problem & will need ot be replaced. Otherwise, the Clutch Slave Cyl. will need to be replaced. System has to be bled after replacing either & the Clutch Master Cyl. must be bled before hooking up the lines to the Clutch Slave Cyl.

Good Luck

good luck.

No clutch resistance on audi a4

This sounds like a common Audi problem but its usually in early shape A3s and TTs. If you heard a snap, then possibly the pedal has broken where the clutch master cylinder connects to it. In this case you can just replace the pedal but it can be an early sign of a faulty master cylinder. If the pedal is ok, it maybe the master that has failed and needs replacing. Worse cases, the slave cylinder maybe faulty or even the release bearing could be sticking on the input shaft. Bleeding the brakes will not help, the clutch shares the same fluid and reservoir but is on a different hydraulic system. The clutch would need to be bled from the bleed nipple on the slave cylinder on top of the gearbox. This can be difficult without the car on the ramp, but is worth trying before replacing parts. What engine does it have?
