'05 Saab 9-3 trunk release quit

The trunk release doesn't not work from any of the buttons on my '05 9-3 sport coupe. They worked when I bought the car (used) but one day all three buttons just quit. I have to open the trunk with the emergency release pull now. I've read that a wiring harness that runs up the trunk hinge but my car does not have the harness (in that location anyway).

SOURCE: The trunk release (both on the door and on the key

If the fuse is okay, check to see that the latch is not bound in some way, and that it is properly lubricated. A dry latch sometimes will not release.

My battery is dead in my Saab 9-3, I want to manually open the trunk.

if the battery is completely dead... there is a way to open the trunk from the inside. it involves putting the rear seat down. in the middle under the back window theres an emergency rear seat release. lower the seat, and then pull emergency trunk release on the top of the trunk door. hope this helped.

Hatchback won't lock on saab 9-3

I had the very same problem with my 2002 Saab 9-3 after I manually moved the trunk latch to the locked position "out of curiosity..." Then I noticed there is a handle you can pull to release latch opening it up! Very simple remedy... It is a glow in the dark green plastic handle hanging down when the trunk/hatch is open dead center, just in slightly behind latch... Gently pull handle until you hear and see the latch click into the open position...Let me know how You make out. BTW: Toyota Camry has the same set up,same color as well...lol Good Luck!

2003 Saab 9-5 - I'm having the following problems. 1. The trunk will not open either from pressing the trunk release button and will not open from the remote. 2. On the monitoring console, a message is...

1) The trunk opens with and electric solenoid in the trunk. It must receive power from fuse thru button or remote. I'm guessing you can open trunk with key? With help listen in trunk when release button pushed, you should hear some kind of "click". If not continue troubleshooting for power.
2) One of my cars (Jag) was doing same thing. Problem was dirty float in reservoir. I removed from car and cleaned thoroughly

Top lowering problem on 2004 Saab Aero Convertible

I have a 2004 Saab 9-3 Arc convertible that had the same problem. The spring on the hinge assembly for the package shelf latch assembly was broken. The part itself is over $300. If you have someone remove the spring, your top will work again. You'll just have to put up with the top shelf hanging down in your trunk about 1 foot, but you can still manually move it to place things inside like your luggage or golf clubs.

Trun will not open on my 2004 infiniti g35 coupe

The wires that go from the body to the trunk lid are broken, the wires are located inside the rubber boot that connects between trunk and the car. very common problem.
