I have a 2004 Toyota corolla LE - my check engine light came on and I went to have a diagnostic done. I have 2 codes, P0741 and P0420. Went to the local dealership and they said I need another transmission, took it to AAMCO, they changed the cat converter earlier this week, but the P0741 code came back, so they replaced the solenoid, after driving home today the check engine light came back on again. When I called the AAMCO they said I will need to drive it around at least 1 1/2 days so the solenoid can clear its cycles. Am I being taken for a ride, and is this a completed transmissions replacement issue?
Firstly it could be that the check engine light is mal-functioning or not. why not drive it as they said and if after that its still on get back to us.

It's likely to be the ECM (the car's computer). 2004, 2005, etc Corollas may have a bad ECM that often eventually results in those 2 codes (sometimes not, sometimes others, sometimes weird shifting, etc.). see your dealer, there's a recall for some years, and service bulletins on others.

I also have a 2004 corolla with the code p0741 that keeps coming up.I beleive that is for the torque converta. What needs to be replaced and how much does it cost
