How do I replace the water pump on my Cadillac Deville?

Hi.

Here the instructions.

  • Take off the plastic cover located near the top of the radiator if present.
  • Remove the protective shield located on top of the belt pulling the water pump. You will need to undo two 10mm nuts and one 10mm bolt.
  • Undo the 10mm nut that holds water pump housing togeter with the oil dipstick.
  • Take off the air intake assembly.
  • Move the PCM computer to one side, ensure that the module is safely placed.
  • Release the belt tensioner using a big flat screwdriver.
  • Remove the serpentine belt from the water pump pulley
  • Remove the upper radiator hose. This is held by a metal clamp. Use plyers to remove the clamp.
  • Remove also the clamp from the thermostat housing bypass hose, without removing the hose (you have to bleed coolant first).
  • Unscrew the four 10mm bolts that hold the water pump housing and letcoolant drain from water pump plug. At this point you can also removethe lower radiator hose to drain faster.
  • After coolant drains remove the water pump housing.
  • At this point you have to use a special Water Pump removal tool onwater pump cand turn clockwise until the pump is sliding off thehousing.
  • Remove the pump and the o-ring located inside the water pump housing.
  • Clean and grease the area, put a new o-ring and install back water pump housing
  • Install the new water pump using the special tool and following operations in reverse order.

You may need to use sealant tabs from a Cadillac or GM dealer. Here is what you need.
Better going to your local dealer to get the best product for yourCadillac. You will also need a 3/8'' ratchet, socket and extensions

Youmay also need to replace the housing cover gasket. You will need toreplace the O-Ring, that usually comes with the new pump.
When installing new pump you must also ensure that the new pump is aligned correctly, one of the tabs on the pump housing is different and will lock up the pump, so it must bealigned properly while installing.

1999 RAV4 THERMOSTAT LOCATION?

In a 1999 Toyota RAV4, the thermostat is located in the engine compartment, near the top of the engine block. It is typically located on the passenger side of the engine, near the front of the vehicle. To access the thermostat, you will need to remove the plastic engine cover.
To replace the thermostat, you will need to drain the coolant from the engine, remove the hose that connects the radiator to the engine, and then remove the mounting bolts for the thermostat housing. Once the housing is removed, you can access the thermostat and remove it. Be sure to refer to a repair manual for specific instructions, as the process may vary slightly depending on your vehicle's specific model and year.

I just want to replace the radiator and themostat in my 93 100 with v6 engine. Is this difficult? Where can I find a diagram showing the proper steps?

The thermostat is located in the engine block just to the side of the water pump underneath the housing where the upper radiator hose is attached.
  1. Remove the lower engine shield.
  2. Place a large drain pan under the vehicle to collect the coolant.
  3. Remove the radiator cap and drain the cooling system into a suitable container.
  4. Place a large drain pan under the engine block drain located at the bottom of the engine near the vicinity of the flywheel and the oil pan.
  5. Drain the engine block coolant into a suitable container.
  6. Place the (hood) lock carrier in the 'service position'. For additional information, please refer to the following topic(s): Body And Trim, Service Position, Front Bumper, Hood Lock Carrier.
  7. Remove the accessory drive belt. For additional information, please refer to the following topic(s): General Information And Maintenance, Routing Maintenance And Tune-Up.
  8. If installed, remove the upper front engine cover.
  9. Remove the toothed camshaft drive belt from the right side cylinder head to allow enough access to remove the thermostat housing. Cover and protect the drive belt from residual coolant.
  10. Remove the mounting fasteners; remove the housing, then the thermostat.

This is for the thermostat..

need directions on how to change the starter on a 1994 cadillac deville

On a 4.9 v8 this is relatively simple

Step 1.... Before you get under the car, Disconnect the battery and look for the metal shield. The best way to find it is to follow the red (power) cable from the battery. It goes straight to the starer. You want to take out the metal shield, but you will only be able to take out the only accessable nut from the sheild from the top. The other will be from below (later). Take out the 1st connector/nut holding the shield. This should be located by the radiator...you will see the metal shield is protecting the wiring from burning on the exhaust manifold.

Step 2...Then raise the car on the lift, take off the long / wide plastic shield under the radiator (allowing manuverability and you to see what you are doing). Then remove second plastic shield covering the starter.

Step 3...This will allow you to take out the 2nd bolt holding the metal shield (from step 1) protecting the wiring harness.

Step 4...Then you will be able to unfasten the wiring and bolts to remove the starter.

Step 5...Replace with the new starter, reconnect everything and bolt it ,etc. Dont forget to put all the sheilds back in place and make sure the wiring harnesses dont touch the exhaust manifold.

Step 6...Lastly, lower the vehicle, raise the hood and dont forget the nut on the metal shield !

Step 7...Reconnect the Battery

Step 8...START YOUR ENGINE!!! YAY!!!
