The long beep is to tell you its on.try asking someone to walk past when your in reverse about 18 inches from the bumper if it dont beep beep then try cleaning sensors.if that dont work then a sensor could be faulty..

I have a 05 expedition, does anyone know if there is a way to get a louder beep from the park assist speaker?

Question about 2004 Ford Expedition
1 Answer
I own an 05 Expedition with rear park assist. The system appears to be working, minus the actual alert sound. If I back up with the radio on, the radio will automatically lower the volume as normal so the audible "beeps" will be easily heard. There appears to be a TSB regarding the issue I described, the fix is to first replace the speaker that is attached to the module. Cheap enough to try, about $35 bucks. I have no idea where the module/speaker is located.

This answer was posted on fixya previously. So check for a TSB on your vehicle.
