My ford focus ZX5 2003 runs very well. In hot season after starting I can run as many km I want. But if I run it few km and turn off, again start it and run for some more km by doing so When I start it 3rd-4th time after short intervals without letting engine cool, car stops picking acceleration and its idling goes down and car start turning off automatically. I have to cool down the engine to run it smoothly again. The problem comes with repeated turning on-off only and in hot days.

Sounds like your FANS aren't working correctly or you are low on coolant,or dirt in radiator or air blockage in the fins. You DO have at least a 50% antifreeze solution in there, right? don-ohio

SOURCE: Ford Focus occasional starting problems.

Hey there...

Although I'm questioning why it would be doing this mostly on cold mornings, I would suggest that you check your battery connections. 99 times out of 100, the reason that this happens is because one of the battery cables does not have a good connection (Many times it's the ground wire). If you check to make sure that the connections on both ends of both cables are tight, then try taking your vehicle to your local parts store to have them do a load test on your battery. It's possible that the c.c.a. (cold cranking amps) are no longer sufficient to start your car. After awhile, batteries tend to lose their charge due to age, how many times it has been discharged completely, and also frequent cold weather. I believe that this should solve things, but feel free to contact me to ask about any other possibilities that may be causing this, as I'll look into any other similar common issues on your particular make and model. Should be battery cables or battery itself, though. Hope this helps and have a great day!

SOURCE: Ford Focus Deisel chokes on acceleration

Hi mate.

This sounds like a fuel problem.

Some one may have have filled up with petrol. If so you will have to drain the feul tank and change your feul filter.

If only diesel has been put into the tank then carry on as follows until you solve the problem.

Change your fuel filter and air cleaner for a start.

Check your timing.

If you still have the problem, then have your injectors cleaned and reset.

If the problem is still there then you will have to have the fuel pump reconditioned.

You can also check your leak off pipes between the injectors to see if they are in good condition.

I trust this will help you.

SOURCE: zx5 2004 ford focus alternator broken

disconnect the battery & make sur you have your radio code, then remove the belt.
it's pretty simple there's a nut in the middle of the tensioner wheel, get the right size socket & using a ratchet, move the tensioner by locking the rathet & do or undo the nut, as it's a fixed nut used to swivel the tensioner.
Then undo the wiring on the back of the alternator, usually a click in multiplug and a + power cable boted on with a 10mm nut.
then remove anything in the way of the alternator securing bolts, & remove the bolt's, alternator should be free !
But I don't suggest you do it yourself unless you have a reasonable grasp of mechanics, as I have had to do this job properly after some people have tried themselves & they've made it worse, plus once the belt's off you have no power sterring so you can't drive it to the garage if you can't get the belt back on !

92 ford focus runs fine but won't start after

If car is parked for 45min running will it restart?
Most likely you have a fuel pump getting hot & shutting down cools off & then will restart. The fuel pump relay could also do this.

I have a ford focus 1.8 diesel x reg 1999 girlfreind put petrol in it about 3weeks ago we have drained it all re fueled it and it started and run but now it wount start

poss the fuel filter has petrol in it,replace filter, turn engine over with fuel line unattached to clear lines then fire up,should be fine.you may hve a hot start problem for awhile but fill up with diesel at 1/2 tank to dilute any petrol left.in 32 years in the trade i have put petrol in so many diesel cars, and as long as it starts, keep it running, and start only when cold ish.

Diesel focus run out now needs bleeding how do i do it

most of the ford diesels have a lift pump to supply fuel. My experience is the the larger engine like 7.3 and 6.0's but the only thing you should need to do is go to your fuel filter. crack it open so fuel can flow out. have someone turn on the ignition but do not start it. run it until the fuel starts to come out the fuel filter housing then shut it off and tighten your filter housing back up. turn your ignition on but dont start it. you should hear the fuel pump kick in. wait a few seconds and then try to start it. after a few cranks your engine should start.
