Alarm not working proper

I replaced my battery last month & everything is working well except for my stock Ford Alarm. It respondes & chirps even lights flash like it sets. Inside, the flashing red L.E.D. light flashes 2x short pause 2xpause 2xpause. with the alarm set or not set, key on or off.. Most people say look for the re-set button.. DOES ANYBODY KNOW IF THEY ACTUALLY EXIST & WHERE IT MAY BE LOCATED?

What is the "stock Ford Alarm" You are referring to ? The factory RKE ( Remote Keyless Entry ) does not have an alarm, other than the panic / personal alarm / vehicle finder. If you have a Ford Gold remote start + Alarm installed, that was done at the dealer. On a 2003, the theft light is on the cluster, not a blinking LED. Can you find a picture of the Key fob on a web site, and post a link to the URL or upload the picture, so we can tell which system it is? You can use keylessride.com to find a picture of it.

What is it that your alarm isn't doing. ie. going off when the doors are open while armed? kills the engine while armed? PAT factory alarms aren't equipped with vibration features unless it was a added feature. Or sense the tailgate is open unless added.

Try this. lock car door with key and hold key over for 30 secs then unlock the car with the remote holding button down for 30 secs.assuming the battery in the remote is okay...it should reset the alarm system.

Car Alarm not chirping when turning on/off

Check the battery

They only last 3 to 4 years in some cases
(cars battery)

That will make the chirp if the module voltage is low

Next would be to have the modules checked for codes
& or diagnosed to find a problem

First thing I would do is have someone qualified disconnect the alarm and stereo and start over.
Chances are you have circuits cross-connected and something is draining the battery.

It's going to have to be looked at. But you can try unlocking a different door with the key. Hold it to the left (unlock position) for 2 or three seconds. Should shut off the alarm and allow you to start it.

I put in a new battery and the alarm remote does not work

Couple of times when you replace the remote battery, you might have them not working/ responding but just follow the procedure below.

Stand close to the car, hold down the open and close knobs for about 10 seconds. Press them at the same time for 3 seconds; then press the open button as the car opens.

The above procedure is applicable to a lot of car brands. It does not matter how many knobs you might have on the remote fob.

I have carried this procedure out on a lot of brands ranging from Honda, Toyota, Rover, Ford, etc. and it works perfectly well.

Good luck and Rate this.

Cheers

Ford focus rs alarm trouble

if its a factory alarm you put the key in and quickly turn the key on and of i cant remember if its 8 or 9 times but the horn will chirp then you push the lock and unlock on the fob the locks should respond then turn key off and your done. note that if you have more than one fob you have to press lock and unlock on all of them before you turn the key off and i believe you only have about fifteen seconds to do so if not let me know i will look it up at work
