This actually depends on what plug you are using. A platnium plug should gap at .060" while the conventional plug is gapped at .045". The AC delco 41-392 gaps at .060" while the AC delco rapid fire gaps at .045"
. I would recomend the 41-392 and gap it at .060" however there is some desperity in the manual and labels on this matter as platnium plugs were a newly offered back in that day.

Check engine light has 5 codes, p1491, p1201, p1202, p1203, p1300

Acura 3 5RL Trouble Code Info Basically your whole engine is misfiring. BUT!! IS it running rough? What is it doing? I would replace your spark plugs first and check the gap. Clean your EGR valve and the hose running to it. One of those codes is about your EGR valve. Check out the first link I posted in this to see what your codes mean. If this doesn't fix it, you may have a coil problem . You can pick those up at a junk yard pretty cheaply. When you check the coils, make sure there is no gap in the stick. Half way up you will see a small skinny seam. It should be almost imperceptible if they are good. Also, there is this handy dandy sensor: Called a Ignition Misfire Sensor. I wonder if yours is bad?http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/x,carcode,1000966,parttype,10767 1996 ACURA RL Ignition Misfire Sensor 19100674-o5bk0cq15nzcjcdo4dxi1a1k-2-0.jpg <<<these are coils. Half way up the stick you may see that seam I was telling you about. So, make sure you get the tightest gap you can if you go that route.

I need the spark plug gap for a 96 lincoln town car with a 4.6 liter engine.

my Haynes manual doesn't list the gap setting. but on my mark vii. i have a sticker/label under the hood that shows the belt diagram and the spark plug gap, which is .054 maybe chiltons manual might have it. or you can ask "auto zone" or where you buy the plugs.
