Where is the alarm siren located under the hood of a 2003 Hyundai Sonata 2.7 V6? I know the siren is under the hood, I need to know where. I believe the siren was removed during a body repair and not replaced, but I don't know where it should be and the first response was useless. Thanks all!

2004 hyundai sonata anti theft car alarm solution

Per my local dealership this problem has been identified by Hyundai and a service bulletin released. There is a plunger-type limit switch under the hood (passenger side front corner - easy to see) that isn't being depressed enough by a small rubber bumper attached to the underside of the hood. The fix is to replace the existing bumper with one that is slightly longer. The replacement part number is 92736-3M000 "Pad-Lid Switch". It cost me 80 cents with tax. Just pull the old one out and push the new one in.

My 2007 Hyundai Elantra Limited car alarm goes off only at one location and not always. I have had the car for 3 years. It only started doing this the past 3 Sunday nights following getting new tires...

There is a Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) that addresses intermittent alarm self-activation. It involves replacing a small rubber bumper under the hood.

See your local Hyundai dealer and ask them about Bulletin Number 09-BE-026.

Car alarm randomly goes off

there is a hood switch located at front passenger side under hood. check to make sure the plunger at hood is pushing the switch completely down. sometimes there may be just enough clearance that a strong wind will set the alarm off.
