Car hesitates when first started.

When you first start the car and start driving, you can put the gas pedal to the floor with only a very slight power increase, then after about five seconds the power kicks in and the car takes off, after that it wont do it again until you turn it off and let it cool down for a while.

My personal suggestion would be to go for these repair catalogs. I know this website www.reliable-store.com that i used to get manuals from, and they have all models online.
I also brought for my 1989 BMW,
such old model, they had it and it was very good manual. Go ahead, I bet.

SOURCE: engine shakes and hesitate when started until it idles down

Sounds like its missing on 1 or more cylinders. A check of the plugs and wires is in order, Could be a fouled plug or a loose/bad sparkplug wire. Best of luck.

Car wont stay started unless foot on gas pedal

This could be a lot of things. IT could be the injectors or the fuel pump pressure, it could be the air intake, vacuum leak, etc.

Hesitates start an when i stop it cuts off

you should not have to work the gas pedal to start this car. It has an electric fuel pump. When you turn the key on to start it can you hear a "whirring" sound coming from the back of the car? Get your fuel pump checked.

1997 s10 2 wheel drive truck. 4.3L v6 makes a loud noise as the car accelerates fast or under load. When running 55 I can release the gas pedal and the noise is not audible. I can put the truck in neutral...

Your noise sounds like it is power train related,If you have eliminated the engine,Since it doesn't make the noise while moving and in neutral.
It sounds like a universal joint in the drive shaft.Do you notice a vibration
along with the noise?

Replaced head gaskets

What size engine does it have? Sounds like a timing problem.

Hesitation

Check your ignition leads for spark or shorts. In dim light you will see the spark jumping where there is a short. Don't put your fingers near the leads when running. Bit of a nasty. If you have a timing light just hook up each lead one ata time to check for flash from the strobe.

Hope this helps
