Service engine soon light on 1998 buick regal gs

The vehicle has had an oil change and replacement of the power steering pump, reservoir and hoses. After starting the car and driving for a short while the engine shuts off and the ''service engine soon'' light appears. The car can be restarted immediately the the light stays on and the engine will shut off. This occurs as long as I drive the car. The engine has shut off while I was driving down the free-way. For that reason, I don't drive the car.

It is most likely a crank sensor!!!!!!! i am 99.9999% positive that this is the culprit. I am a mechanic and this is the first thing i would check with your description.

SOURCE: Power steering reservoir location

As you are looking at the engine from the front, it is at the back left, a little under and inside the rear serpentine belt pullies. It's hard to see, but if you look from the inside, down the back of the motor by the firewall toward the belt pullies, you should be able to find it. It is more difficult to access if it with a turbo. No wonder GM is going down the drain. :D

How to replace 93 Buick Skylark power steering pump?

Remove the drive belt.
Disconnect the two hoses (one pressure, one return) from the pump... catching the contents of the pump's reservoir with a pan under the vehicle. Crowfoot six-point fitting wrenches are strongly suggested for removing the hoses.
Unbolt the pump from its bracket.
Remove the pump.
Replace with a new or rebuilt or salvage pump, reversing these steps.
After refilling the reservoir to the full mark, start the engine and turn the steering wheel fully against both right and left stops several times to bleed air out of the system. Top off the reservoir to the full mark again.

I need to put some power steering fluid in my car but i cant find the reservoir

The reservoir is in with the power steering pump. You can find the power steering pump along the serpentine belt and remember to check the level while the engine is running. On the power steering cap there is a built in dip stick with makings, just make sure you don't over fill. Good luck and hope this helps. I think on the 3.1 and 3.4 the power steering pump is at the top just to the right od the alternator

You have a problem in the fuel pump relay circuit for sure then. I'm betting the relay, but it could be that dropping resistor.

The reservoir should be located under the hood on the passenger side, above serpentine belt. Guide your eyes backwards towards the mid section of the engine on the passenger side. the small reservoir will have a small turn cap on top. (passenger side off vehicle)
