I have a 2001 chevy cavalier that has loud clicking noise

check that a valve rocker has not jumped off a valve end and is pressing down on the valve spring retainer.

check real close, it is either a cracked manifold. or the manifold gasket are bad. while running engine put hand around manifold, but do not touch it or you will get burnt. this way if it is leaking, you will feel the exhaust coming out. Hope this helps, Good-Day!

Check your wheel bearings. when your wheel bearings start goin bad you will start to hear a growl like sound

The flasher relay is faulty. Get it changed out.

You need to check your power steering fluid level, the pump is the noise source most likely. If you find it very low you have a leak and it must be repaired, if PS fluid gets on the exhaust it can cause a fire have seen it many times over the years.

Could just be the injectors.They make a clicking noise when the engine is running and you usually can`t hear them when the hood is closed.Some are louder then others.If you know a good mechanic just have him listen to it or stop by a shop and have them listen to it.Go to more then one shop.Some places will might tell you your motor is going when it really is not.You need to be careful.Hope this helps.Good luck.

THE LOUD NOISE IS PROBABLY COMING FROM THE BLOWER MOTOR WHICH IS LOCATED IN THAT AREA. THESE SOMETIMES MAKE A LITTLE NOISE BUT IF THIS NOISE IS LOUD OR JUST DOESNT SOUND RIGHT, THE MOTOR COULD BE GOING BAD.

the cd sensor light which spots the cd is dirty run a cd cleaner through it should fix it
