I have a 97 jeep grand Cherokee it turns of i reach a stop sign and the rps start go go down until it finally shuts off. I have a new battery, wires plugs, new spark plugs, new ignition coil and asked mechanic to check fuel pump and he said its good i don't know what else it could be need help badly.

Fuel pump. The valve in the pump that stops the fuel from draining back into the tank is not working so you crank and crank until the fuel gets up front. Turn the key on but not to start for 5 seconds then off do it five times and then try to start it should start right up
In the 97 Grand Cherokee, after the remote start disarms the factory security system and starts up, the factory security will not rearm, while the vehicle is running.
After spending Hundreds of $ and hours on trying to figure this out we finally broke down and went to the scrap yard and got a PCM for this car. It only cost about $30. Wish we would have done this a year ago!!!!
the fuel pressure is fine it reads about 40 - 50 psi
