To start with, a basic engine computer code reader will not connect to the body computer which is why they are not getting any codes.
The 4wd lights will not come on as long as the warning light is on, the system is disabled until it is fixed.
You may need someone with a professional scanner to connect to the body computer.

Well it could be the selector switch, but I doubt it.
Generally, the service light means something is not working that the computer controls. Solenoids and valves are a couple of possibilities.
The transfer case is shifted by solenoids commanded by the body computer based on the switch position on the dash.
You should be able to have a shop scan the body computer for trouble codes and proceed from there.
A basic code reader may not access the body computer.

is the 4wd working still, if not are the lights coming on, on the switch for the 4wd? usually when the service 4wd light comes on, on a blazer it is usually one of two things, either the solenoid on the transfer case, or more times than not it is the switch on the dash itself, they were not a good design and would overheat and go bad, actually they go bad so often that auto zone stores carry then out on the shelf in he doorman help section, they are only 20 or 30 dollars, and they pop out and in with very little effort.
