Sounds silly but this is how i fixed my bell ringing. !st the ringing is the alarm when you open the door and the key is in the ignition or the car is running. I found the push switches that are on the side of the car and are operated when the door is shut have become loose. All you need to do is tighten them up a bit and the bell ringing will stop. When you make your right turn you probably push a bit on the door and that helps open the switch more. The switches are the contact switches that turn on the light as well as the warning sensors for open door. See if your dome lights flicker a bit as well.

I constantly forget to turn lights off because dummy sound doesn't happen. Was hoping it was a fuse but have no idea and a shop isn't going to just give me advice

Is it after you use turn signal? If so your turn alert is faulty or is not canceling turn signal

Testimonial: "it rings before i use the turn signal. I will check your suggestion out, thanks."

How do I get the warning bell to go off. When driving my 99 silverado the bell keeps ringing. When I come to a stop it goes off. Very irritating. The dealership can't even figure it out.

What you could do is first you see if you can see a button on the clock the alarm and press it twice and see what happens then you are free to go out of your home i guss??

The bell that sounds off when you open the door

Oh wow, I bet that drives you insane. The only reason I can think of it doing that is if the door switch located in the lock mechanism has malfunctioned.

Chances are good that you will have to replace the locking mechanism, BUT, sometimes the electrical switch in the mechanism gets dirty and sticks.

This can often be corrected by performing the following:
1. Thoroughly spray the door switches (on each door) with:

  • Cleaning spray - clear the sludge out of the mechanism - electronic contact cleaner, carb, brake, etc

  • Air, canned or even better, from a compressor

  • Spray lubricant - Dry lube
2. Open and close each door several times to work the lube into the mechanism
This is usually sufficient to clean the electrical & plunger mechanism inside the door switch.
If this doesn't work, you could remove the door panel and do the spray treatment from the inside also.

If this doesn't work, the switch may have to come out for repair (see below), or replacement.

My door chimer won;t stop ringing it;s driving me crazy help

Look for the plunger coming out of the frame where the door hinge is. Is it broken? When you open the door the plunger is released (comes out) and grounds sending the signal to chime, however this should only happen if your lights are on or key is in. The chime controller may have failed and that's why it also could stay on. Does it happen when the key is in, while driving, or even always stays on? Need more info.

2001 Suburban bell in car ringing like lights are left on

check you ignition system, where you put the key in, stick the key back in the ignition and play with it by turning the ignition back and forth to see if you getting contact, do it more than 5-6 time, jiggle it also when turning the key. sometime switch goes bad in the ignition system and the key doesn't realize the key is out, same way your car will not start. if you have to replace the unit is fairly cheap and easy do it your self

Seat Belt Bell

There is a pin on the inside of the door - we built up 2 or 4 layers of duck tape on the swinging door to hold closer to the pin - that stop the turn ringing but it will ring if you leave the keys in the car by accident still - Marsha
