My 98 Chevy Malibu is idling high to the point that when i put it in drive and take my foot off the brake it like my foot is on the gas pedal. What is causing this?
You probably have a large vacuum leak. With the engine running, listen under the hood for a hissing sound. Check all of the rubber lines running from the intake.
remove the idle control valve sensor it has two torx screws #20 clean the sensor with CRC Mass air flow cleaner also spray inside the throttle body housing that it goes intro.
Dont try to use anything else or you will mess it up and have to pay 150.00 for a new one.
air dry only.. dont wipe it..replace it and it should be all good.
