Suspected kick starter issue

My car is a Hyundai Elantra 2008 model (1.6 litre engine). When I insert the key into the ignition and turn it round to the end, it will not make any sound. The battery sign on the dash board and other indicators will show but the car has not roared to life. This started since yesterday and is rather surprising

Does the key work properly the key should go to the run position first then to the start position then after the car starts back to run .... if everthing is ok there
first check the battery make sure that it is fully charge... second check the cables make sure the are good and making good contact ... third check to make sure that the ground (neg cable is connected to the motor ) wiggle it a few times last replace eather the fuseable link between the starter and the ignition switch of the starter ... if this is the first time this has happened try to jump out the starter there is a little wire on the starter short it with the big red wire to see if the starter comes to life if it does its the little wire that goes to the ignition (has a fuse in the wire) if the starter doesn't start the car change the starter ( last try to start the car in neutral to be sure the switch there is ok

Do you get a clicking sound? If so it could be the battery or the starter. If not then its the starter solanoid (relay)

When i try to start me 2008 sonata the alarm goes off and the engine will not turn over. what can i do?

Your Sonata is equipped with a "Keyless Entry & Burglar Alarm" system. When the Burglar Alarm is activated, it KILLS the starting system through the used of a relay called the "Burglar Alarm Relay". This mode prevents engine starting with the key.
Solution #1
Disarm the system with the Keyless Remote (key fob) If you don't have this remote (or its battery is dead) replace the battery & try disarming again.
Solution #2
Enter the vehicle & insert the key in the ignition and turn the ignition switch to 'RUN'. Wait 3 to 5 minutes until the alarm stops. You should then be able to start the engine.

Have a qualified/certified Hyundai Service Technician properly diagnose this issue.

2008 Hyundai Elantra. CD is stuck in the player. Says "Loading'. Can't eject it. Radio works fine. But CD is hopelessly still loading and stuck. Is there a pin hole eject or an easy way to...

disconnect the 2 audio fuses and wiat 5 minutes with the ignition key off, insert both fuses, then turn the key on. if it doesnt eject, it probably has an internal defect and will need to be repaired.

I have a 2002 hyundai elantra. weird noise igniton

No this is normal. This whine you hear is the fuel pump turning to pump fuel. Try not to run it under a 1/4 of tank to much though because if you do and you run out of fuelit can burn the fuel pump out. Chris J.C. Towing

2000 hyundai elantra alarm goes off where is the

There is NO kill switch on the 2000 Elantra... HOWEVER, there is a thing called the Key Fob (keyless remote entry system). There is, however, a system in place called the 'starter kill' circuit and it is activated when the burglar alarm goes off.... it's called the burglar alarm relay and it is activated to prevent the engine starter system from being used. There are three ways to get the engine started in such a circumstance... 1. use the key fob to 'disarm' the system... 2. put the key in the ignition and turn it to the 'RUN" position and wait until the alarm stops (horn stops beeping and the parking lights stop flashing), then the engine will start.... 3. pull the starter relay from the UnderHood junction box and bypass the starter circuit (key in ignition and in the 'RUN' position), jumper the starter solenoid circuit to energize the solenoid to start cranking the engine -- it should start then.

Help my hyundai 2006 elantra radio is locked and its a 2nd hand car so i have no code how to i unlock!! also she tries to turn over about 1-3 times everytime i start up, she doesnt always kick in.... whats...

Go to a Hyundai dealership with the title for proof of ownership and they should be able to dig up the appropriate code for you. (hint write the code somewhere on the cars owner manual to help you and any other future owners) As for start ups... i would look into a tune up since you didnt mention any "SERVICE ENGINE SOON" lights. A typical tune up would be just new wires and new plugs for a car this young maybe replacing the cap and rotor would be in order but start with plugs and wires for starters Hope this helps.

Interesting problem.. since not US spec. Is there a 'remote keyless (fob)' programmed for this vehicle? That's the only way to DE-arm the immobilizer (anti-theft) feature (based on US specs). Unless you have this key fob (keyless entry remote... which must also be programmed for this vehicle), the only other way is wait 5 minutes with the existing key in the ignition, then it should start (US specs). You will still need to have an 'ACTIVE' keyless remote programmed for this vehicle... otherwise, you'll continue to run into this problem.
