After placeing plug cylenders back through valve cover grommits what keeps the oil from entering the plugs from the bottom of the cylinders ? {2000 dodge neon 2.0}

If i understood your question correctly, the piston rings, usually 3 of them, keep the oil (from the crankcase) from entering the combustion chamber, where the spark plug fires.

Need to remove valve cover on 2000 Camry Toyota

For the four cylinder engine:

  1. Remove and label all electrical wiring, connectors and vacuum hoses necessary to gain removal clearance.
  2. Remove the spark plug wires. Disconnect the PCV hose.
  3. Remove the four nuts and grommets located on top of the cylinder head cover.
  1. Remove the cylinder head cover and the cover gasket from the cylinder head.
  2. Discard the gasket and replace with a new one.
To install:
  1. With a wire brush or gasket scraper, remove all the old gasket material from the cylinder head and the cylinder head cover gasket surfaces.
  2. When the cylinder head surfaces are free and clean, apply beads of sealant to the cylinder head in the locations shown in the accompanying illustrations.
  3. Install the new cylinder head gasket in the cover. Make sure that the gasket seats evenly.
  4. Place the cylinder head cover with the gasket onto the cylinder head.
  5. Install the four grommets and nuts. Uniformly tighten the nuts in several passes to 17 ft. lbs. (23 Nm).
  6. Connect the PCV hose. Connect all removed vacuum hoses, connectors and electrical wiring. Connect the negative battery cable.
  7. Start the engine and inspect for oil leaks.
  8. Repair any leaks as necessary.
For the V-6 (3.0L) engine:
  1. Drain and recycle the engine coolant.
  2. Disconnect the radiator inlet hose.
  3. Disconnect the throttle and accelerator cables.
  4. Remove the air cleaner cap assembly.
  5. Remove the V-bank cover. Use a hexagon wrench to loosen the nuts.
  6. Label and remove all emission control valve hoses. Disconnect any wiring interfering with the valve cover removal.
  7. Remove the air intake chamber. This will gain you access to the back valve cover.
  8. Disconnect the engine wire from the left hand side, No. 3 timing belt cover, rear side and right hand side. Most of the wiring is secured by nuts and or bolts to the body of the vehicle.
  9. Remove the ignition coils, make sure the place them in order on a table so not to mix them up.
  10. Remove the 8 bolts retaining the valve covers and gasket.
  11. Clean the mating area of the valve cover and cylinder heads well. If necessary, scrape any left gasket from either surface.
  12. Apply seal packing to the cylinder heads and place new gaskets into position.
  13. Attach the valve covers. Uniformly tighten the bolts in several passes to 69 inch lbs. (8 Nm).
  14. Install the spark plugs in their proper locations, then place the ignition coils into place and secure.
  15. Attach all engine wiring be sure to secure each harness properly.
  16. Install the air intake chamber. Refer to Fuel System .
  17. Attach all emission hoses and wiring.
  18. Attach the V-bank cover.

Oil should not be entering cylinders, if the oil is on the spark plugs and the wires. You need to replace your valve cover gasket AND tube seals.

Oil leaking into cylinder

"leaking into the top of the second cylinder on top of the spark plug wire
only this matter !! cure that.

some engines have spark well. are you saying the wells fill with oil?
if yes, you didnt buy a real valve cover sit, try FELPRO that
comes with the well seals , with kit.
skipping is misfire. if the boots get fill of oil, sure it will misfire, how can it not?

Oil on the spark plugs/failing cylinder?

The important question is - oil on the top half of the spark plug, or oil on the bottom (fire) end of the spark plug?
Oil on the top end of the plug means that your valve cover gasket is leaking. This is a common problem. BMW valve cover gaskets get hard and shrink and have to be replaced about every 10 years. It is an easy do-it-yourself repair, but it can take a while to dig the old hardened gasket out of the valve cover without scratching it. Just be patient.
If the bottom (fire) end of the plug is wet, either the plug is not firing due to a failed coil or some other electrical problem, or you have bigger problems in that cylinder. A compression test is in order.

Car is jumping (vibrating) all over the place in low acceleration thinking its the fuel filter but need to know how to install it

sounds like its only running two or three cylinders, maybe a spark plug is bad or wires are loose...when it did this on my 91 they were notorious for leaking oil down into the spark plug holes because of leaky valve cover gaskets, so what i would have to do every 3000 miles or so, because i was just too lazy to replace the gasket was to just take out each spark plug and let the oil drain into the cylinders then put them right back in! worked everytime..i did eventually replace the gasket.

Misfire blue smoke

SOUND LIKE TOO MUCH OIL GETTING IN COMBUSTION CHAMBER. POSSIBLE CAUSES.TOO MUCH OIL IN CRANK CASE.STUCK CLOSED PVC VALVE.WORN VALVE GUIDES AND VALVE SEALS ALSO BAD OIL CONTROL RINGS.

Changed the spark plugs and the old ones were covered in oil

i'm guessing that your car is a 4-cylinder. this is common for inline 4-cylinder engines. since the spark plug holes usually go through the valve cover, the valve cover gasket will leak and collect in the spark plug holes. to fix this you will have to replace the valve cover gasket.

My 2000 cadillac catera is trying to stall while sitting idle. i was also told i need oil gasket covers. would these issues be related?

The oil is contaminating the plugs pooling in the base of the plug and shorting them out. Eventually unburned fuel from no spark will enter the catalytic converter(s) and destroy them by burning in the converter and taking the O2 sensors down death row.

Yes exactly what happened on my 01', 2 cats, 6 spark plugs, 4 valve cover gaskets, 'O' rings and all 4 O2 sensors later, it goes like a bullet; head sticks to the headrest when you press the accelerator.

Did the work myself and tested my patience...car almost won.

Does the car have a rotten egg/sulfur smell at the exhaust....if so, the cat(s) are all ready to be replaced.

You need to clear the original problem: the cause of the leaking covers. The breathing system for the engine is plugged and the breather box is blocked. Until you clear that problem, you will keep replacing valve cover gaskets and then converters, and plugs.......you get it.

Are you getting random misfire on any cylinder(s) through the OBDII?
