One of the wires to the factory radio is common to the dash lights. Perhaps he accidentally connected that wire to the wrong place. Or, perhaps it got shorted during the installation. Check for a burned fuse. If that isn't it, I would take the radio out and relook at the installation instructions for the radio.
not sure here because all these electronics can cause weird and wonderful faults give the multiplug a good wiggle then check the earth on the dash unit
i have the same problem with my mothers 92 chevy lumina euro try pumping your brake pedal down may sound weird but that turns them off and on in my mothers car i think there is a electrical fault in the car itself possibly faulty ignition wiring is what im thinking now
Is yourd check engine light on? If it is, I would have the codes read first thing. If not, it could be clogged fuel filter or air filter, loose vacuum hose, or bad throttle position sensor or other sensor but the sensors or any electrical problem will set off check engine light.
run hot even at highway speed? no leaks, or sweet smell? ever have to top off coolant? ever boils out of system? if no to all these, sounds like your cooling fans aren't working. there is a fuse either on the motor cradle or on the passanger side wheel well. start the car, let it warm up, and check for power to the cooling fans.
educated guess..flasher units (2) one for signals the other for emerg flashers usually located in fuse block under dash drivers side kick panel , glove box area ..or engine compartment near battery
