as for the burnt smell, a catalytic converter if bad will emit a rotten egg smell, and also you may hear it rattle inside the converter when running. if check engine light is on. have it scanned with a obd2 scanner, it may just be a o2 sensor going bad. if you do not have a scanner, any auto parts place will scan for free. Hope this helps TOOLMAN,

This smell from tail pipe may be burning coolant, does it smell sweet, if so have head gasket checked. when a car has problems with something from tail pipe. it is usually the head gasket that is bad.

02 sensor? Throttle Pos Sensor?

Likely the TPS.. those cars were notorious for chaffing or breaking wires. The 02 code is likely a result of the bad TPS. Or, having a bad tps may have even clogged the sensor.

My car losing water but runs perfect

several reasons one do you see a puddle under the vehical? second can you smell a sweet smell whether driving or just after parking it? third do you see any white smoke comming from the tail pipe? Is the oil level ok or is it over full and contamitated with water? is the water pump seeping out of the weep hole? If there is white smoke comming from the tail pipe then you likely have a bad head gasket or a cracked head. if any otherleaks are present find the source and fix. hope this helps

02 malibu no acceleration engine sounds fine

would be worth having the cat converter check for blocking the exhaust system

I have only 47,000 miles on my car but the exhaust smell in the car is bad.

if it smell like rotten eggs then you need to get the catalytic converter removed. if it smells like normal exhaust smell then you either have a hole in your exhaust under the car or the tail pipe is to close to the boot and letting in exhaust gasses. I had the same problem with my toyota hilux and found the exhaust gasses were getting in through the tail of the 4x4 cause the pipe was way to close to the boot
