Well the starting problem,start by checking the fuelpump,if it spins and doesnt start, but if you turn the key to start and it does nothing then take look at the starter, use a test light have someone hold the key in the crank position and test for power at the small wire at the starter if theres power and engine isnt spinning then replace the starter, the trany, i would start by first checking the fluid level, make sure engine is warm, with car at idle in park check level if the oil level is full in the trany then i would say its time for a trany shop to look at it, these cars have lots of trany problems. good luck.
