My Ford transit cab/chassis 2002 instruments cluster has stop working (temp, tacho, speedo, fuel). At first the tacho and speedo needles were dancing around and i thought it looked like a bad electrical connection problem as it happened when travelling on bumpy sections of road. Now they have all just stopped including odometer. Bad circuit board maybe? I hope not. My radio has been playing up too because of the poor quality circuit boards in it.

I pulled the fuse and seemed o.k. but now things are working. Derrr! Tacho not though. Needle is jambed right around against stop (flat out)but does move a little every time key is turned on making me think there is contact there. Maybe it needs manually flipping back? I have checked all fuses and seem o.k.

Recently i travelled over some VERY rough corrugated roads which may have caused my probs.

2003 Satria, Tacho and Fuel gauge dont work . Fuel gauge comes up now & again low fuel light works. Tacho works now & again. But speedo and temp do work all the time.

It may be that the speedo and temp are mechanical, whereas the tach and fuel are electrical. Check fuse for inst. cluster for clean and tight fitment. Check electrical connection at back of inst. cluster.

On a 57 plate suzuki swift the speedo and mileometre have stopped working.the fuel gauge is up and down.and now the diagnostic light has come on.any ideas

This sounds like the instrument cluster has gone faulty, unfortunately. With any luck, you might be able to find a replacement at a scrap yard somewhere to at least save some money. Otherwise, the dealership is the only other place in which to purchase one of these.

I hope this helps and good luck! :)

What do you mean cluster contacts bad !Whats the solution?

Remove the speedometer head unit, and check the soldered joints on the back. It's a common problem with these and some Chrysler products. "Randomly" is when the crack closes and makes contact, like if you hit the top of the dash and it starts working again. The speedometer head cluster.

Rev counter, speedo & sometimes fuel & temp guage not working

pull the instrument cluster out and check the printed circuit and connector to it from harness, plug it in and out three or four times, this may cure the problem.
