I have worked on a neon before that had that same problem.so check the connections to your brake lights, stop lights, reverse lights, and turn lights.they could have a bad connection and its draining the battery.that was the problem i had so maybe your having the same exact problem.it had took me weeks to find that problem.i would jump start the car and it would run fine, let it sit for a couple of hours and the battery would be dead.so anyways ya check that i can almost bet thats your problem.

SOURCE: 1995 Dodge neon I had the tires removed and looked

Hi Shannonro,

I think it'll be a good idea to check or have the brake pads and shoes (if fitted) checked....When they become worn or damaged you cannot always see the problem!

It sounds like your ignition tumbler is going back or your ignition switch. Hopefully this helps you out and gives you a place to start looking. If you have any other questions please feel free to ask. Good luck.

I have a Dodge Neon 2006 which was working fine

you may be right, try a spare key, that will elimanate the key chip, you will need a scan tool to diagnose this problem, also with key in crank position is there power at starter, the scan tool can tell yuo if computer is reading key chip signal and if signal if right and also you can see if starter is receiving start signal, good luck.

How old is the battery? Clean the connections, charge the battery. Try starting it. Get the battery tested at Autozone or some place like that.

EGR code 1999 Dodge Neon

Hello, you could try pulling it and the pipe off and cleaning it before replacing it. An egr is pretty expensive. When you go to clean it use Carb cleaner.
