Car makes noise like a dry wheel bearing only when turning right-rotating tires makes less noise for a while but is still there and steadily gets worse. Nothing is loose in the front end-noise has been there for approx 75000kms- only when turning right.

Look again under the car. Check the CV joints on the side making the noise.

CVs are cover in a rubber "boot" and contain grease the lubricates the joint. Look to see if the boot is torn. If so the grease is lost and the joint will wear and make the exact noise you describe.

Start there as it is a simple and likely issue from your description.

Hope this helps

I have 2005 grand Cherokee making noise from front! Sounds like tire noise but it did not change when I rotated tires. Noise is there when ever car is rolling, I tried letting it roll in neutral and the...

If the tires aren't cupped, feathered or chopped then most likely it is the wheel bearing. Though it may be tight it could be dry inside and not yet at the point where you will feel pay.

There is a very loud humming noise coming from the front left tire! plz I await your reply. Thks.

You probably have a bad tire or wheel bearing. Either the tire is cupped causing humming noise or grease inside sealed wheel bearing is burnt up. I would take front tire and move to the back of the car. Then drive again. If noise stays the same you probably have a bad wheel bearing. If noise moves to the back of the car than you may need to replace the tire. Most likely it is the wheel bearing, I replace them all the time at my shop

I just bought an2003 ford explorer 4x4 and i have a loud humming noise coming from the front end tires are brand new it has around 190,000km please help

If the noise is only when the vehicle is moving it sounds lek you have a bad wheel bearing. You can inspect ford move ment or play shaking the tires up and down and left to right while lifted up on hoist or jack. If there is no movement doesn't necesarily mean the bearings are okay, however if there is movement in bearing replace and drive again. Antoher way to determine Which wheel bearing is bad is to drive and turn to the left, if the noise gets louder than it mens the rightside wheel bearung is bad. If you turn to the right and noise gets louder replace driver side front wheel bearing. Also Rub your hands across your tires, does it feel wavy or uneven, you could have cupped tires, I DON'T KNOW HOW NEW THEY are but cupped tires will also make this noise. One way to see if it is the tires is to do a rotate If noise changes at all then you no its a tire causing noise. Hope this helps.

My 2005 avalon has 154,000 miles on it and I'm getting a noise from the front end, expecially when I turn sharply to the right or left. I have the tires rotated and balanced every 6,000 miles. Would this...

sounds like it could be wheel bearings but I'm surprised that when they rotate the tires they didn't catch this.

The next time you have your tires rotated ask to have the jacked up front end tested for loose front end parts. They can shake it down physically looking for play in the ball joints, tie rod ends, and bearings.

Struts generally wear out and cause a bouncy front end conditioin. Brakes, if properly assembled, won't make any additional noise when turning left or right.

Good luck on this.

its a wheel bearing. .will need to be inspected to determine the correct one. Also tires could also do this if the steel seperated internally. Rotate the suspected tire to see if it follows the tire.

The car makes a howling noise while driving it

well did the noise start after the tires were rotated?could be choppy tires,,,if not ,i strongly think it sounds like a bad wheel bearing,,,,if you drive and while its making the noise turn left and right quick and see if the noise gets louder and which way turning makes it louder,,if you turn leftand it gets louder its usually the right wheels bearing as you are putting load on it, if it makes the noise louder while turning right its the left wheel bearing,,,got it

Got an02 saturnl100 4dr sedan,too much road noise

Yes tires wearing out without correct rotations will cause the tires to wear out quickly, This applies to anycar not just L-series though. I would correct the tire noise before dealing with the wheel bearing because I would almost bet the bearing is ok and they are just hearing tire noise. I have seen a few bad wheel bearings on L cars, but nowhere near as many as the number of tires i have seen making noise. Get a couple of tires and drive it and see what you think. Oh BTW dealerships are not owned by the manufacturers they are privately owned and their employees are not considered employees of that dealerships manufacturer. The people at a dealership work for only a slightly larger company than your local garage, and usually a much smaller company than most national chain tire/repair shops.
