Did you have the oil leak prior to changing the oil? The "change engine oil" indicator is just a service reminder to get the oil changed. You need to reset it. Call your local dealer or check your owner's manual for instructions on doing this. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- a good ECU Chip Tuning Tool

CHANGE OIL SOON Light
1. CHANGE OIL SOON light will come on when engine oil has broken down enough to require changing. After changing oil, reset oil life display.
2. To reset light, turn ignition on. Open glove box to access oil reset button. Press and hold oil reset button in glove box for at least 5 seconds, but not longer
than 60 seconds. The CHANGE OIL SOON light will flash 4 times to indicate light has been reset.
It simply means that the service indicator was not reset when the oil was changed. If the oil was changed professionally, then resetting the service indicator is usually part of the job.
It's not just a reminder to change the oil, it's also there to remind you to check/adjust/lubricate/replace other items such as the air filter, oil filter, spark plugs, fuel filter, dampers (UK=shock absorbers) etc.
The service indicator is simply a dumb counter keyed to mileage and time elapsed and cannot sense when you have completed a service. Resetting the indicator requires a special tool so you'll need to take your car to a suitably equipped garage.
Hi, I just got an oil change today and reset the code. Press the status button, when oil level appears, press the reset button 2-3 times. It will then ask if you would like to reset, if so, press reset again. You're done! Enjoy. :)
