If you press the unlock button on the key fob twice when you first unlock the car this unlocks all the doors and the boot. If you have only pressed it once only the drivers door is unlocked. If you have only pressed it once and you have started the car push the locking button on the door and the pull it this will then unlock all the doors and boot too so you don't have the turn the car off and press the unlock button on the key fog again. it should be the door selenoid causing the problem it has the linkage attached to it and would give you the problems you discribe

the "THEFT" light should always be flashing tells you its working, i have a 93 deville does the same thing, but if the alarm sounds alot make sure you dont open the doors with the handle or the unlock arm if the doors are locked only use the key or the button on the remote or buttons on the car door and if the alarm still goes off you might have an electrical problem
