2001 chevy tracker code po455 and po440

If your check engine light is not on and codes are present, your dash bulb that illuminates the check engine light may be blown. I would have them clear your codes anyway and drive the car for a day or two. then have them recheck the codes. if nothing, your car will pass

Tried getting ford f150 4.2 2003 inspected. Replaced air filter and fuel filter already. Check engine lit was on before replacing them . Now check engine light is out . But won't pass inspection.

As for your codes p1131 and 1151: Ford - Lack Of Heated Oxygen Sensor Bank 1 Sensor 1 Switches - Sensor Indicates Lean

Last week I had the very same catalyst, evap and ECG codes come up on my 1999 Mercury Mystique which is like a Ford Taurus. A friend was able to find a hole or leak in the hose connected, replaced it and it runs fine. I havent run it a full and straight 50 miles yet to clear the check engine light but that repair alone changed the entire way the car was poorly driving. Im sure that hasnt fixed all the probs but thats a good starting point.

I need to turn the Check engine light off, due to passenger/front catalytic converter 2005 nissan xterra

You still fail your state inspection if you turn off the check engine light. So Im sorry to say, that your gonna have to wait untill your new cat gets installed. After its installed you have a few options for turning off the check engine light.
-You can disconnect your battery for a little bit.
-You can take it to pretty much any mainstream auto parts store and they will clear it for free.
Either way you have to complete what is called "a drive cycle" to be able to pass your vehicle inspection.

DRIVE CYCLE
Once problem is fix you complete a drive cycle. Every vehicle is different so this is a general guide.
-There are a certain number of times your vehicle has to be started.
-There is a certain amount of time you have to be driving at different speeds
-There are sometimes a certain millage that has to be reached (ie. drive 75 miles)
If you just drive as you normally do for 100miles (not in one trip) your sure to have reset all the sensers that the state inspection equipment check.

SO IN SHORT
Get the new catyletic convertor installed
Get you 'check engine light' cleared for free at an auto parts store
Drive your car normally for about 100 miles
Get your vehicle state inspection

My truck runs poor and the reduced engine power light just came on.

Need to check/replace/clean engine fuel and air filter. Also it is not stated what vehicle it is, if it is a petrol inspect spark plugs. Also check when the last engine oil and filter change was completed.

97 ford f150 will not pass inspection

If you have a component problem (plug missfires, run rich, bad O2 sensors, etc.) the "check engine light" should have come on in the dash. Its possible that warning light is burned out.

You need to get a free scan from Autozone or Oreillys or a similar autoparts place. There may be problems a scanner can pick up or the source of all your problem is the onboard computer which is not lighting up the "Check Engine Light". Either way, a scan will let you at least know the computer is working.

If you have a V-8 with the Aluminum intake, there is a groove under the Airhorn gasket that gets sooted up. 8 bolts and a $10 gasket fixes it when you clean it. Also check the plumbing from the "Backpressure pipe", it goes from Exhaust to EGR pipes at back of engine. This can give burnt sulfur smell on accelleration if there are holes in it.

In some states you get a print out of the test and when they fail the mechanic at least will give you an estimate to fix the problem. There is also a liquid sold at Autoparts places to help your vehicle pass the test. It is a gas additive. Then since oil vapors are drawn into the engine to burn, clean semisynthetic oil will have less contaminants. Do an oil change and new Air filter before testing.

I hope these suggestions are helpful.

Code 1740?

If you disconnect the battery for a minute or two the PCM and TCM will reset. If the light doesn't come back on right away, either the problem no longer exists or the conditions to set it haven't been met. One trick to get it to pass if it takes a while to come on is to drive within a block or so of the inspection station, stop and disconnect and reconnect the battery to turn the light off, then on to the station for the inspection. I know it doesn't fix the problem but it might get it through the inspection.
