This can be as easy as a oil pressure switch or a major engine rebuild sometimes the oil pump on these cars goes bad. there about 60:00 dollars at autozone and sometimes you can get a highvolume oil pump which can keep the pressure up..
but if you still have that problem you will need to replace the mains & rod bearings

Assuming NO Oil Leaks:
It is the Oil Pressure/Sending Unit Sensor or it's Electrical Connection located adjacent to the Oil Filter.
Locate the Sensor
Unplug and check both sides of the electrical connections. Check for corrosion or oxidation (white stuff), Clean with a wire brush, replug, and recheck operations.
If this does not fix the problem:
Unplug and remove this Sensor. Clean the inside portion (that was in the engine). Reinstall, Replug, and recheck operations.
If this does not fix the problem:
Remove and Replace this Sensor.
I'll add a comment after Posting giving you: Part Numbers, Pricing and Availability,

No I do not work for either store/company!

Autozone Part #PS278 for around $10.

    Advance Auto Part #S4098 (w/light 2-door) for around $7.

Advance Auto Part #C1835 for around $16.

I strongly suggest that when you remove this Sensor to take it with you to the auto parts store and compare the parts.

After Service when you drive and slow down to stop when refs fall under 1000 rpm the oil warning light come on. When driving light goes off stay off

The chance is good that the oil was replace with thin oil. If the car idles lower than it did before the service it can also be the cause and need to be adjusted to higher rpm. No immediate damage to the engine forseen but need to be rectified asp especially if the car is going to idle frequently or for extended periods.

Oil light comes on after warm up at idle

You probably need oil. When it get's warm, the oil most likely settles more and goes below the sensor mark to light the light. Remember, there are 2 different readings on the dip stick, 1 for when the engine is hot, and one when it's cold.

I have a 2002 mitsubishi eclipse rs and the oil pressure light came on. When the car is turned on the rpm become lower to about (650rpm). No oil leaks and level is fine. In any gear the rpm is low and when...

Your problem is not the oil pressure sensor, it's because your idling is going too low. If you raise the RPM slightly the light goes out. 650rpm is a little low. I think your car has an Idle control valve ... or look if it has an Idle position sensor. I suspect you have an issue with that.
Hope this helps.

I have a 2002 Dodge Stratus, When I come to a stop, the oil tight comes on but, when I take my foot off the breaks and asccelerate ( or put any gas to it) the light goes out. PLEASE HELP!

You are developing low oil pressure at idle this is a common problem with Dodge stratus. If you fail to have it fix you will definetly loose the timing chain and the whole enginecansmo_198.gif

Oil light is on

May be bad oil pressure sending unit. Best way to check is to connect a mechanical oil pressure guage to engine and check pressures when engine is warm. Should be no lower than 40 psi at idle when warm, no higher than 70 psi at 2000 rpm.

This same thing happened to me it was the oil sending unit that needed to be replaced. It's an easy fix but you have to take off the heat shield to get to it.

Engine knock hard over 2500 rpm

Does the oil light come on or the knock occur during the engine warm up after a cold start?
There could be a couple of problems causing the issue. You could have an oil pressure pump or pump pressure regulator sticking. I would have a mechanical oil pressure gauge installed and verify oil pressure at idle and 2500 rpms to make sure oil pressure is in normal ranges.
You could also have excessive piston rod bearing, crankshaft bearing or cam shaft bearing wear that will cause oil pressure to drop too low to prevent the rod knock your hearing at 2500 rpm.
You said a knock and not a ticking noise,so I don't believe a lifter is the issue at 2500 rpm.
Start with the oil pressure check and go from there.
Let me know.
