Peugeot 406 - interior fan on constantly

I have a Peugeot 406 where the interior demisting fan has decided to constantly be on maximum, it will not switch off / turn down - do you have any ideas to determine the problem / solutions other than take it to the garage?

  • Anonymous May 11, 2010

there are different methods of controlling the fan speed on different models depending on year of manufacture and spec'. give more information - model, year, description of switch, a/c fitted or not, dual zone, chassis no. etc. whatever might be relevant.

I need the manual for the interior. so know what all the buttons and switches do for the 406

You need an owner's manual. Of course your Peugeot dealer can get you one for a price. A search of Google with the term "Peugeot 405 Owner's Manual" will bring up many sources for a free download of the owner's manual.

Peugeot 406 GLX cooling fans

there is a sensor on the radiator that when it becomes faulty can go either way i.e working constant or not working at all. try removing one wire from that sensor, if the fan doesn't come on thats the fault.
