Backfiring is usually associated with a lean condition. Is fuel pressure correct? Is this vehicle TBI and are both injectors working properly? If timing related it should spark rattle under load and the timing would be way out and not run/start well at idle
You have a bad injector or a defective throttle control switch. You can test the throttle switch if you have a ohm meter, if you do get back to me and I will tell you how to test it.
well you could start with the wires because cut wires are never good but it also sounds ike a fuel pump they can heat up and shut off and they have to cool back down befor they start again unless it felt like dieing. when this happens again chck on your fuel rail you will see a valve like on your rim to fill up your tire push in the pin and if it squirts fuel out then your pump stoped working. be carefull and wear safty glasses
CHECK FOR INTAKE LEAK OR BROKE MISSING VACUUM HOSES.IT COULD BE AROUND THROTTLE BODY GASKET.THE PVC VALVE IS STUCK OPEN OR COME OUT OF PLACE.SCAN IT CHECK FOR EGR VALVE FAULT CODES.IF IT STUCK OPEN.IT WILL CAUSE IDLING PROBLEMS.MAKE SURE PLUGS AND WIRES IN GOOD CONDITIONS.
Not sure of your question, but it sounds like a bad fuel pump or clogged fuel filter. If it stops running after gas in tbi is consumed, it is likely the fuel pump.
