SOURCE: ABS LIGHT ON / BAD WHEEL SPEED SENSOR / HOW TO REPLACE

Most ABS sensors are very simple to replace.
Unplug the sensor wire and unscrew the one bolt holding it in. It pulls right out.

ABS and traction control really are only for panic stops and if your tires slip on wet surface's and yes each tire has a sensor on it. However if the brake light comes on this has nothing to do with the ABS or traction control lights. It's not a parking brake light. This light tells you, you have a serious brake problem.

Why is my Lincoln LS V8 2002 has the ABS and Traction Control light on?

The traction control works off the ABS system You will need a scan tool capable of reading ABS codes before you can further diagnose the problem If you are able to retrive the abs codes searrch on the internet for the trouble code Many times it is a wheel sensor or bad connection on the sensors .

2004 LINCOLN LS TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT FLASHING & ABS LIGHT ON & BRAKE LIGHT ON. DTC CODES B1342, C1730, C1998.

first check brake fluid level then you will have to test the wheel speed sensors that the codes refer to. when there is a sensor problem it will activate both the abs and traction control lights. the red brake light comes on when there is low fluid condition(leak),worn brakes that need servicing. also if there is a abs module problem it can set codes. you need to know what the codes mean this is a starting place to diagnoise.

Front-end vibration in my lincoln ls v8. you can only hear it when you go over 45 mph

I strongly suggest you check the lug nuts for tightness and if they are ok on your right front tire then go to a tire service center and have them balance and check the belts-either is very dangerous because it will A-fafall off or B-blow at high speed. Good luck!

My advance traction abs light is coming on. how do i fix this. my friend told me it could be the front wheel sensor

All four wheels have a Wheel Speed Sensor (WSS).

Sounds like a "WSS" (wheel speed sensor) problem. Each wheel has one. Located on the backside of each hub, between the brake disc and hub bearing. Check for loose connector first. Wire damage? Wiring touching exhaust pipes or rubbing wheel or tire? Look for mud or debris or damage to the sensor's or the rotating sensor ring. ( has a lot of "teeth") Try driving in reverse, in a straight line 25 to 30 feet, then drive forward twice that distance. If that does not clear the warning lamps most auto parts stores can hook into your computer (usually for free) and determine which sensor(s) have an issue. Replacing these sensors is common and simple. You may still need to get the code cleared to turn light off.

My 2002 Lincoln LS v6 Lost Engine Power,Traction Control Light was flashing & ABS light Came on! ANY IDEA?

Had the same problem with my 2002 Lincoln LS, it was a bad wheel speed sensor. The right front wheel bearing had some play in it, so I had the hub assembly replaced. The hub assembly comes with a new wheel speed sensor attached. After I replaced the hub assmbly with sensor, the ABS and Traction Control lights went off. No problem since!

My Lincoln 2002 LS suddenly pulles to the right like some one turned the steering wheel at highway speed. obviously its very dangerous, thank you,Eric

Somethjng is not right with the front suspension of you car. Might be a bent part, something is wear out, or loose. This is dangerous and your tire will create bias, so will cost you more. This car needs a front suspension inspection, and alignment check. We do this service at our dealership 4 wheel alignment $75. GM charge $75 for front wheel alignment, parts extra. Any suspension repair shop can give you a good answer.
