I have an 2002 toyota camery. The alternator fuse went out so I replaced it.Had to use a small peice of paper to hold the screw on and couldn't get it off when I finally got the fuse in.I also changed the battery. But now the car will not start unless jumped off and the battery light stays on.what to do?
Well it the belt did break and a valve is in the wrong place the piston could hit it the you really have a problem... i would put a wrench on the crank pulley and rotate it to chk timing belt.. if good check for spark at end of spark plug wire if present look at efi if not loo at ignition components a shop manual will be most helpful here as there may be specific thing/ways that will make it easier. modern cars with electronic ignitions and engine control modules in-cased in epoxy can be very difficult to troubleshoot. a good shop manual make this alot less painfull. note: i'm working on similar prob. swaped out the ECM and nothing now after more googling and gaining more info there seems to be evidence pointing to the coil as the issue here .... if nothing else there deff. seems to be something going on with the coils and surprisingly little if any pointing to the ECM which usually is the case more times than not in a lot of cars i've dealt with. well in the morning i'll check the coil primary and secondary with ohm meter and see if it meets resistance specs.
Hi, battery light means no charging from alternator, could it be that the alternator is faulty and blew the fuse, try another alternator, good luck.
