1989 Honda Accord: I am on my third new alternator and new battery after MPI forced me to install an immobilizer on my 1989 Honda. It has ruined the car. They say there is nothing wrong with the installtion. Any suggestions?

FIRST:
Click on the following free direct Link. It has the Serpentine Belt Diagram and Tensioner location for your specific 1.5L or 1.6L Engine and options (AC/No AC etc.).
It also has the directional diagrams on how to rotate the Adjustment Bolts on both the Alternator and Power Steering to loosen the belts, inorder to both remove and reinstall the belts.

SECOND:
Click on the following free direct Link. It has the Timing: Belt and Mark Diagrams for your 1991 Honda Civic. Plus additional Instructional and Directional Diagrams.

I would also strongly suggest purchasing either a Haynes or Chilton Manual, available at most auto parts stores. It has specific information you will need incuding the Torque Specifications for each and every Bolt and Nut you will be removing. Cost is $20-$25 fo the manuals.

Step by step on a 1991 ford ranger v6 setting a new distributor timing

You shouldn't necessarily have to change the timing with a new distributor -- just note where the rotor is pointing on the old one before taking it out, and make sure the new one is pointed the same way when you install it.
Regarding the procedure for checking the timing: you do have a repair manual, right? If not, you can probably find a used one for less than $10, which I guarantee can prevent at least $10 worth of mistakes. I like Haynes manuals better than Chilton's.

96 honda civic sputtering now is not accelerating at all

Your timming belt has jumped a tooth.Remove the covers and check that all teeth are ok.Then tighten or change the timming belt.I would fit a new timming belt.Has it is costly when they fail.Good luck.pippall.

I have a 1990 honda civic. I just changed the head gasket I need to know the head bolts torque specs thank you. It is a D 15.

The book say to do it in 2 steps up to 48 ft-lbs. Personally, I would do it in 3 steps, 15, 35, and then 48. Start in the middle of the head and criss cross out to the ends, and repeat.
