GOLK MARK 4 SPARK PLUGS NEED CHANGING, BUT AND AI

Hi, you can to that, but i find it easier to lower the subframe bolts a litle as it make it easier to get the arms in and out aswell. Good luck.

V6 engine: firing order: 1 2 3 4 5 6, distributor rotates clockwise. Left bank of engine (driver's side), cylinders 2, 4, 6 (#2 at front of engine). Right bank: 1, 3, 5 (#1 at front of engine).
Inline 6 engine: firing order is 1-5-3-6-2-4. Distributor rotates clockwise.
The number one tower on the dist. cap should have a mark or numeral 1 on it. If not, turn crankshaft to top dead center of compression stroke on number one cylinder, the 0 degrees or "T" mark on the crank pulley pointer. If you are on the compression stroke (not the exhaust stroke), the rotor under the dist. cap will be pointing to the number one cylinder spark plug wire tower.

I suggest a full tune up.

1. Air filter.
2. Fuel filter, carbureted engine filter is located inside the line fitting where it attaches to the carburetor. Fuel injected engine filter is located in-line under the truck near the tank.
3. Oil and filter.
4. Spark plugs and wires.
5. Distributor cap and rotor if applicable.
6. PCV valve.

Get some tape - mark each spark plug wire with a piece of tape long enough to go around the plug wire and an extra 2 inches - -on that two inches left over - write the cylinders on the tape with a majig marker - 1 2 3 4 5 6 and so forth - then put the wire back on the plug. For settings - call the dealer of the car with the VIN number in hand. They will tell you of any changes and the exact plug to buy.

spark plugs do not come with wires you have to purchase them separately you have to remove plug wires one ata ime and then remove plugs but make sure you mark each wire as to which plug you removed it rfrom and also when removing from distributor cap mark the wires there as well

THE spark plugs are 4 and the firing order is from the front (thats were the fanbelts are )and they are 1342
so the distributor the timing mark on the bottom pully and the rotor button point to the No1 plug lead and points just about to open,and the next lead will point to No3 lead ,and if so then you have the correct timing,,but the points set at 0.012" and the plugs to 0.025" ..And when engine idleing adjust timing on the distributor to advance (thats the oppersite to the way it fires and do it with the vacuum pipe off ,,then when engine runs good ,then tighten calmp and refit the vac pipe and test run.

the firing order is
1-6-5-4-3-2

There are 4 small coild on the top of the motor, these are the ignition coils, 1 per spark plug. You have to pull the coils and the spark plugs are under them.
