Hi from uk may i suggest that first you do some diy checks ? check all tyres are inflated correctly ? then check all wheels are secure? if your steering wheel is not juddering? then you may not have wheel balance problem? also your problem may be one of the engine mountings have failed ie the mounting rubbers have parted from mounting plates this will cause juddering thro out car especially when taking up drive from standing and also as you accelerate and declerate if you are unsure how to check mounts may i suggest you have tyre depot or garage check and report only! as you can do replace mounts diy ? any more info ? come back if you find out fault if you wish help ? hope this helps/inspires you

HELP 04 Hyundai Sonata Intake

Boy, it sure seems a lot of work to capitalize every word...

It is an odd answer, but I think one or more of your intake valve are not sealing. Engines make a horrific amount of noise if you pull one spark plug, then start it with the other plugs still in.

There just is nothing in the intake system that can make noise, except what is on the other side of the intake valves.

Do a compression check. If the intake valves are having a sealing problem, the compression will be low.

If the cam that opens the intake valves is late, you could get a short backward flow just before the valve shuts, which could make some noise.

This is a truly odd complaint you have. But that;s all I can think of that could do this.

Your alternator bearing can make that noise when it is going bad. Open the hood and find the alternator. Search on the internet to see what it looks like. That is easier than trying to explain it. Take a metal rod or a 3/8" drive 12" to 18" extension and with the engine running, carefully place one end of the rod on the alternator case and the other to your ear. BE VERY CAREFUL TO NOT TOUCH ANY ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS OR MOVING PARTS. IF YOU DO'T FEEL COMFORTABLE DOING THIS, TAKE THE CAR TO A CERTIFIED MECHANIC. You can check the water pump with this same technic which could be making the sound but I would bet it's the alternator. Replacement is how to fix it.

Where do you feel the vibration? if you feel it where you sit it is coming from back which is usually rear brakes. If you feel the vibration in your feet and hands it is coming from the front which could be your ABS or front brakes.
