Buddy of mine just changed spark plugs on a 2003 Hyuandai Tiburon and when put everything back together the engine made a popping sound hesitated and struggled to keep running. Almost sounded like it was misfiring. We made sure the sparkplugs were correct and everything was put back together. The only thing I can think of is there is to much air since the intake manifold gasket was not changed. Could it be anything else?

Recheck the firing order. What size and type engine is it? I think you still have 2 spark plug wies interchanged.

From the vacuum advance (clockwise) the firing order is
2.O L is 1 3 4 2

2.7 L is 1 2 3 4 5 6

I am sure it was misfiring due to improper plug wire connections.

It was fine before your "Buddy" fixed it.

Now just get the wires right and start it :)

Thanks for using FixYa!

In the late '70's, I changed out spark plug wires on an International pickup. Was told by hubby that you change one at a time, intake to output, in order Not to mix them up.

Diagram of spark plug wires on my 2003 Hyundai Tiburon

some engines have no such thing
so is this a ,buddy told you change them out
or failed to look first as most have COP coils
look ma' no wires.

you mean firing order i bet.
best is remove and replace them 1 by 1, and not just yank them all off at once ever.
if did buy the service manual and read.
no engine told nor country told and all that varies by country.
Tiburon 2.7 Delta engine???? v6??>?
wiki facts we can not guess engines blind.
there are 3
in USA (are you) it is 2 engines, 2.0 and 2.7 v6

ok both engines full set of spark plug wires USA.
I have 1999 car with no wires , only COP coils.
rule #1 do not remove them all at once
or have to learn FIRING ORDER you must at the
spark end (cylinder #) and the distrib cap too
and rotor direction, al that, or fail it will
next time ask first/
>?
eg : 2.7L how to change spark wire set and not lose firing order. oops

if the fuel is cold its normal but if the fuel is hot and u have this problem ..
1st : u have to change the oil filer for transmission, if the problem remains u have to change the valve body

2nd: test the transmission and the engine by the scanner, u have to test if the is fault inside the control unit, or the fault in the engine control unit to the transmission control unit

My 2003 Tiburon GT V6 5spd has been intermittantly hestitating and missing while at a contant speed and even stalling out from time to time. Also, the engine revs high at 2000 rpm then back down to 1000...

have you changed your fuel filter in the last year or so, if not. do it. a plugged up fuel filter will cause a lot of issues also. it can cause stalls, hesitation and stumbling.

I worked on the 1998 plymouth voyager 3.0L i did a worked on the cylinder head but accidently i forgot to drain the coolant out of the engine so when i lossen the intake manifold the coolant went in was...

ok. first off, if you dont have any of the spark plugs in and you turn the engine over to crank, its not going to sound the same as when it does with them in. If indeed you do see the cam shaft turning, then the engine is cranking over because the starter goes to the flywheel/flexplate, to the crank, and the crank goes to the camshaft so if you have everything put back together exactly the way it came off, you should be alright. Individually check each cylinder for compression with a compression tester. What kind of work did you do to the head? If you removed it to work on it did you have it resurfaced before re-installing it? Did you thoroughly clean and prep the gasket areas? Let me know how this turns out.

How do you change the spark plugs on a 1998 toyota corolla?

pop the spark plug wires out of the engine, get a pretty long extension and the right size socket, and untwist them out, replace, (make sure if the new plugs need to be gapped, you do so properly, this will save you on mpg and spark plug life) and put it back together making sure you put the wires back in the same order you took them out! Good luck and please rate me!

Nology hot wires and Nology silver spark plugs

It is not possible to use Nologi non resistor silver spark plugs together with Nologi Hot wires on my Tiburon 2003. I guess it goes for all Tiburon from 2002 to 2006 with the 1,6 liter DOHC Alpha Engine. But I am still working on it and if I get anything to solve this problem I will be back to tell.

Change spark plugs on hyundai coupe v6 2.7 2002

To change the sparkplugs you have to actually remove the black and silver shield, then take the headers off. There are bolts hidden under the middle silver pieces, they pop right out. There is also a bolt under the Hyundai H logo on the cover.
