1998 mazda protege running lights out

One of the light fixtures has a grounded power wire. Examine all light fixtures closely for bare or grounded wires. If you find nothing, trace the wiring harness to switch paying close attention to places where the wire harness passes through holes on the body for the harness. Any contact with the steel vehicle body from a power wire has the potential to cause a short, which will blow fuses faster than you can replace them. Start with the outside tail and marker lights. Also look for broken filaments inside the bulbs, as a broken filament touching another filament or wire inside the bulb can do the same thing. Good luck.

Mazda protege with no dashlight on.

First you must cut the Dimmer wire from your stereo installation.Second, replace the 5amp or maybe the 7amp fuse that blew at the fuse panel near the LEFT foot rest.If you are certain that all the fuses check fine, then go to your MAZDA dealer and purchase a new thumbwheel dimmer control, because the rheostat has burned in your present one.Do not reconnect the dimmer control wire 2 your stereo wiring, because U don't need to.

Blown main fuse on 2003 mazda protege 5.

There are two bolts on the side of the fuse itself. Under the fuse box on each side. Unbolt those and it will come out.
