At low speed turning left my 2002 silverado ext cab's right rear wheel locks up repeatedly leaving skid marks on the pavement then after brakes are applied and come to a stop vehicle is normal. Anyone with advice??? Thank's
You will need to have the parking brake adjusted to the minimum clearance possible and double check the shoes & drum while off.
It sounds as though the shoes are loose, they move forward, grab & unil you center the brakes by applying them and then they release until put into a bind again.
These usually don't get adjusted or even looked at since they are hidden inside the brake rotor hub on the rear wheels.
good luck.
Check brakes if disk in back check e-brake pads for binding-check caliper possible faulty and is engaging --if drum pull and check for debris or shoes not properly retained sometimes one of the retaining springs break and get stuck between shoe and drum make a mess if brakes look good other location for problem would be the rear possible broken gear
