Ground wire coonection for tail light Camry 1999. All the lights ( license plate, tail,reverse) that are connected to the trunk are not working.... 1999 Toyota Camry.

take each one out and check them with a meter or test light.. then put them back in..then be looking at fuseable link wires near the battery.. then go to relay controls operated by the headlight switch..

If you confirm the side marker lights,tail lights,fog lights and/or dash illumination are inop,and fuse number 39 is open,the wire harness is chafed/damaged at either the left or right front side marker lights....Removed both front side marker light and repair the harness wil fix your problem.....Let me know if you find any damaged wire harness

does yuor truck has a hitch harness? check your towing lights controler sometimes behind L tail ligth, just follow your harness, back track power, don't know what you have done but hope this helps.

you have a very serious electrical short and need to first find out where the short is. Then rewire the circuit. Not a job for an amateur. Take it to a Certified Mechanic,

You need a "test light". Then you turn on the circuit you want to wire in, tail lights, brake lights, blinkers and poke around the back of your light sockets until the test light comes on. Then you splicew into that wire and run it to your plug in. If you don't know which wire is what on the trailer, hook it up and with the wire fastened into the truck harness, try it on the trailer harness wires until you get the proper lights working. Process of elimination. Hope this helps.

the tail light issue could be just bad bulbs, check them with a meter ,, also, check the sockets for power to each contact point,, normally if the brake lights and flashers are working, the tail lights should too,, as far as the dash lights have you installed an after market stereo? If so a common problem is a wrong wire got grounded,The harness from the car to the factory radio has a wire for the dash lights that shows up as ground with the light off. When the lights are on the wire is 12V+. Check to see if you connected the ground from the new stereo to this wire. The radio will work perfect but everytime you turn thr park light on the fuse will blow...and the radio will continue to work. There should be a ground wire in the harness as well, ensure you connect the ground from the new stereo to this wire. there is a 15 amp fuse that blows, check them with a meter rather than by sight

Check the rear harness wiring harness for corrosion or a broken wire. Should be the brown wire that power up tail lights. Also if you have trailer wiring disconnect it and see if it goes away. Trailer wiring very often cause high resistence due to how they are connected.

replace head light main switch
or remove fuse,
or put a main disconect to the batery
probably has a short at the tail light asembly sockets , clean the sockets and wires , check the trailer harness.
