2004 Chev Silverado with extended cab has wind noise around both door windows. I have been told by body shop people just bend the top of the door slightly and the noise will go away. I have tried this without much success. I have placed a dollar bill in the door, close the door, and the dollar bill slides very easy. Would new door seals help or do I need to be more aggressive about bending the top of the doors?? Thanks from windy in Colorado

I have the same issue with my 04 Silverado. instead of bending the doors I cut a length of rope (about 1/4" diameter) approx 5 feet long and ran it under the top flanged part of the weather stripping ( in between the cab of the truck and the weather stripping) giving the weather stripping more cushion against the door and reducing the wind noise inside the cab while driving. I live in phx where it doesn't rain however so I don't kno if this quick fix will getyou wet on rainy days. good luck

tip

Wind noise

This may sound odd but there is a recognised issue of wind noise - that "seems" to come from around the windshield area. Problem cab be caused by a missing "jacking block". Look under the body at both ends of the sill - where you are supposed to place the jack when lifting the car. there should be small retangular plastic blocks where the jack goes. these are held onto the body with a part of the block that sticks up into a small hole in the body. If one or more of those blocks is missing apparently the air russing past the open hole in the body is heard as wind noise around the windshield. Otherwise be suspecious of the sunroof - close the interior panel and see if the problem changes. And of course make sure the windows are all the way up. Sometimes when unlocking the passenger doors you accidently activate the opening of the windows - for a fraction of a second. They do not look open but they are down just enough that you get a wind noise.

Wind Noise 2005 Silverado

I think the actual frame the hinges are on is bent, you should take it to a body shop to have them re-align it.
