Instrument cluster "controls" nothing. It gives you information from items that are being controlled and it gives you the results of what is going on...speedometer informs you of your speed...flashing light on the left informs you you have selected the turn signal arm to turn left.

Where is the fuel gauge fuse on a 1998 Buick Century?

There is not a single fuse for the fuel gauge , there are a few that power up the whole instrument cluster ! If there were a fuse out more then just your fuel gauge wouldn't work .You probably have a bad sending unit in the fuel tank or the stepper motor for that gauge is bad ! The thing to do would be to take to the dealer or some other capable ASE certified repair shop that has a up scale scan tool that can check codes in the instrument cluster ! Or you can take a chance an replace the instrument cluster !

How to take out instrument cluster in 2000 buick century odometer lights out

The instrument cluster in the 2000 Buick Century features an analog odometer that is back-lit, making it possible to see during night driving. Over time this light has a tendency to burn out, which can make for unsafe night driving as the driver will not be able to see all of the information usually at his disposal while driving. Replacing this light takes some time and requires you to be careful when disconnecting the wiring harnesses.

Odometer light out on buick century not working

Sadly no, there is no fuse or bulb to replace. You either have to send the instrument cluster out for repair or replace it with a new unit from the dealer. You could also obtain a serviceable one from a salvage yard. Most shops should be able to replace the instrument cluster or advise who can repair it.

My experience has been they are not interchangeable - a number of sensors are usually unique to the specific cluster type installed.

Instrument Cluster

No. 2001 to 2003 are interchangeable. I am currently looking to replace mine on a 2002 and have consistently been told those years are the same. These babys are pricey, perhaps you can trade your 2004 for one that will work.
